That was a beautiful story about the two sides of monsters and knights and how not all monsters are truly monsters. This was wonderfully told through the gameplay, text, and the cutscene-like visual moments.
The game looked good—visually very polished, and the palette was well used and felt fitting for the tone of the game. The theme was incorporated, and we got to play from both perspectives in the story.
The music matched the mood of the game nicely. The mini-games were a nice touch and offered some variety, which was also needed I think because, while the story was beautiful and engaging, there wasn’t a lot of actual gameplay. The knights' segment and the mini-games were enjoyable, but having a bit more gameplay, perhaps with additional mini-games or puzzles to unlock different areas/caves, would have been great. Maybe in a future update. Or maybe a different story ending according to your actions would also be nice. I read somewhere you also thought about that.
PS: I kept expecting some sort of boss fight in the cave with the wizard—maybe a confrontation with your former self to convince yourself of the other side of the story by disarming and not killing would have been an exciting climax.
All in all, a beautifully crafted game and story. A solid entry—well done! 😊
What a beautiful story! It was truly a great experience exploring the different points of view.
At first, I really didn’t know what to expect, but I must say it turned out to be a wonderful surprise.
Your art is simple but extremely, extremely consistent. Could you tell me which program you used to create it, please? I really appreciated it—it’s clean and incredibly polished. I’d love to try something similar one day.
The music complemented the story and atmosphere of the game perfectly, giving it a significant level of immersion.
My only suggestion would be regarding the mini-games. While they add great variety to the gameplay and keep it engaging, I felt there was a lack of sensory effects to enhance the overall experience.
To address this, you could add particle effects, or even light screen shakes to create a sense of impact—just subtle enough to avoid discomfort.
Overall, this is a very enjoyable game that left me with a pleasant feeling throughout its gameplay. Congratulations on the project, and I wish you the best of luck!
This is probably my favorite entry in the jam. Great job :)
I liked it so much! The art style was great, the audio amazing... It reminded a lot to undertale in a good way. One question, I realized all enemies were avoidable, and I started avoiding them like halfway in the knight playthrough, did you have planned to have an alternate dialogue where things are different if you dodge the enemies??
Hey! Actually I did :) there would be a good ending if you didn't kill the kid goblin, but I didn't have time cause I had to travel.
Thank you a lot for your feedback!

Really cute and well-thought-out game design. I enjoyed the mini-games in the gameplay part, but it felt like something was missing. I was expecting a challenge, but they flew by in a couple of seconds and then you just keep running.
Wow! Awesome art style and use of the color palette. I also loved your interpretation of the theme, and the narrative was really compelling, especially considering the length of the game. Great work!
My favorite game so far! The story is awesome and really well written—a totally different approach to teaching the player perspective than mine, haha. The art style is simple but super stylish. For a game made in such a short time, it’s incredibly impressive. The minigames are a great touch too. Fantastic job!
Great game. You used the color palette really well in designing your levels. Art is simple, but well done. I recall during the jam you were concerned about "lack of gameplay," but this game had enough exploration and mini games I felt it had plenty of opportunities to interact during the story. (Wish I had opted for something like that instead of the overcomplex mechanic I tried to add in mine.)
Story was really well done and complimented perfectly by the soundtracks. The only additional point I would have liked to have seen would have been for the knight to go get the healing orb and bring it to the village, finishing the task he had been desperate to complete in monster form. Besides being cathartic for the player, this would further solidify his path to redemption by saving a life instead of taking one and be a first step towards a potential peace between monsters and humans. (I get the feeling the knight can't/couldn't speak their language, but he could still leave the orb in the clearing.)
5/5. I really love this game and I also see it as a winner of this Jam. Very nice controls, great story, great sound effects and music, amazing art and wonderful minigames. I'm happy to see another game with a similar idea to mine. Amazing job!!!
Feel so happy. As I said, It won :D
Great story and art, mucis is also suites the vibe very well!
Mini games were fun, but I also thought that after the whole story you would be able to replay without killing or something like that =D
On the other hand, if the story has only one way to unfold, it could be interesting to have fighting enemies as a mini game also, like an encounter, so this way you will be 'forced' to kill to progress the game 🤔
Really cool, love the story you tell us, the art and music are amazing.
I also thougth there were and alternative story if avoid killing enemies x3
Realy cool concept and nice entry.
What I felt were the best: I liked the overall story of the game. The dialogues were also pretty good. And the sound design was really top - notch.
What I felt need some more work: The game and level design does not seem good. Beside the story the game itself is nothing more. The minigames hold the game together but you still have to work a lot on the levels which will only add to your story.
Overall I liked the game very much and I think it has the potential to grow a lot.
Great game. The dialogue felt really professional and I could see it becoming a full-fledged Steam game if it was a bit longer. It was really nice how different colors represented unique levels of the monster world. The animations were pretty simple but nice and added to the vibe honestly. Especially the hurt animation. My favorite design was the pumpkin head.
For future revisions, it would be nice if you could talk to certain NPCs again. The fishing minigame felt a bit off in terms of item spawning, though I loved the apple catching one. Maybe there could be extra scenes and achievements if the player reaches a certain score.
Really interesting concept, the music is well done. The story is really interesting to me.. Great job!
Nice implementation of the theme and color palette. Throwing up questions about video game tropes.
I like how much fun the forward movement and randomness adds to the stabbing attack, makes it seem so much more powerful and dynamic.
Great fitting music and sounds.
Excellent art style and use of the palette, has a unique look and effective atmosphere. The action sequences are well designed and easy to understand. Overall, a very polished entry.
Great game, sound and visuals work very well together and so does the story with the theme. For a game of a week it feels very polished
Thank you a lot!
I love the writing and visuals, I hope this is more playable, and I hope it continues like the knight saving monsters' lives from other knights. goodJob bro
Hopefully I make a full version hah, thanks for playing!
Great writing and visuals! Probably the best use of the palette I've seen so far, and a very interesting take on the theme. Good job!
Thanks for playing!
WOW, what a game! All this in one week! Very good story, music fits well, nice concept in general! Congratulations! I would play an extended version easily!
