Nicely made game. Concert is definitely out of my reach, but maybe some kids can manage it. Controller movement almost worked, but not completely, so I ended up playing with a controller and clicking menus with mouse. It didn't help my concert efforts, but it's alright!
Loved the concept.
The timer felt a bit aggressive, maybe slowing time in the UI?
But I think most of it was fighting with the mouse.
Game was hard to get into because I'm on a three monitor setup and the cursor went wild.
Aside from the technical issue it was a cool game and I got a laugh at the take on "change".
Appreciate the comment. I debated about the time but wanted to stick to a quick playtime for the jam, which it why it was about 5 minutes. I definitely should have paused time in the UI; what's funny is I think that was how it initially worked but I updated the clock and kept it running. Thanks for trying it!
Unfortunately, it is a common mistake done by new Unity devs to not lock the cursor to the screen, and is especially annoying when you have more than one monitor.
Despite that, the idea is good, but just like @Satinel, I didn't get to watch the concert
The best I could manage was $6.26 which is a long way off from the goal. No concert for me. :(
I had the same idea of giving exact change for my jam submission! Getting quarters at the arcade is fine, but I'm not sure what to do about getting more of the smaller coins, I ran out of pennies quicker than anything.
I didn't know kids in the 80s had five o'clock shadows at 8am :D
I like the gameplay, but the time constraints definitely feel too tough. Especially since it ticks down in menus. I did also have to fight with the camera to be able to interact with customers and shops, which wouldn't have felt too bad if it wasn't using up precious seconds.
Thank you for trying the game. Regarding smaller coins, this game is one where playtesting for the economy is needed but not something feasible for the jam. As for the 5 o'clock shadow, just think it is a high school student in an 80s movie. (Pretty sure Judd Nelson in "Breakfast Club" and Judge Reinhold in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High were about 24-25 when filming.)
