This is pretty cool, I like the songs chosen in the game and the how the game looks overall, however a major issue I had with the gameplay was that there was nothing telling me when to time my clicks to the rhythm leading me to failing almost every click so that was bad, if the background was trying to that then it did a very poor job of doing so.
That was a very cool game, but sometimes it bugged out and no shapes were in the way! Other than that it felt like a polished and very enjoyable game! <3
Thanks for playing and for reporting that bug! I found it and fixed it :)
The game is very good
I like the game a lot. I did not see the theme of the game jam so clearly, but the gameplay and sounds are great, and the beat combos are nice. I like it. Good job!
Very addictive little game. Really enjoyed it. Loved the different little details you added, such as the beat combos and circle bonus. Good job!
Simple and addicting with some great music, very nice!
The game felt really polished and very enjoyable. I very much enjoyed playing it!
Lots of fun! Interesting rhythm + bullet hell combination. The simplicity here worked well and felt fun and responsive.
Fun, addictive, it's Frogger-meets-Necrodancer with shapes! Setting aside the theme requirements this is a strong contender with a great intuitive feel.
Very fun, though the theme is lacking. I just wish there was a bigger beat indicator or the indicator didn't get off-timing with the song.
very fun rythm game! although no theme, good job! this could make a good mobile game (i would play it)
Game feels amazing and the art matches it well. Unsure how it fits the 3..2...1 theme but either way, Good Job!
Thanks! Unfortunately I had initially designed it to expect you to click on on the 4th beat and there was a visual countdown to help. But with some player feedback I agreed it made more sense to allow the player to click with every beat, so the design changed. The theme helped me get going, but it made sense to drop it in service of the game feel.
I assume that 3...2..1. has something to do with the beat. (I've tried my best, but still was missing the rhytm sometimes). Well done with the visuals - simple geometric shapes with enough details (nice!).
I'm more facinated how you've managed to make and submit within 1 day. Sounds like a lot of work, well done!
Thanks for the kind words! I spent two nights up til 5am to get this much done, and I just pre-planned stuff like, I wanted it to use basic shapes to save on art time, be played with one-button to limit my mechanics, and use a simple color palette etc. Also there is still some tuning to do to get the beat mathing to feel more intuitive for the player, timing margins and such!
I was thinking about making the rhythm game for this game jam and wanted to check out how other devs did this. This one is definitely a great idea, pleasant look and feel. I like it! It makes you want to play more. Add more content and release it on mobile :D
One thing: I am not sure if it is a bug, or if something is wrong with my setup, but sometimes game counts that I missed the beat without any reason. Is there a problem with synchronization or I am so bad? xD
Thank you for the kind words and feedback! I think there is a little bit that can be done to adjust the margin of time that the click will be considered "on beat" to improve the feel of the input. I will definitely continue to tune how it feels!
I really enjoyed it! It has a nice concept and appealing visuals. Well Done!
Addictively fun once you get in the groove, I love the simple controls, and the sfx adds a lot. overall great sense of polish
cool game.
How is the theme applied?
I have updated the design and actually removed the 3..2..1 beat countdown, to entice moving freely on each beat. It sort of lost the theme but feels better to play ultimately.
Yeah it was very fun
