Description
My submission for the Impressions Composing Jam.
The soundtrack was born by the idea of a remote, misterious and peacefull place, and how it would feel to discover it.

Man, the organ was a great instrument of choice! Good pick for the vibe of the theme!
Very fun piece; I could see this in a video game hub or town!
I like the vibe of this. the tension between the strings and organ changing keys and the koto (?) stubbornly staying put was fun, and I liked the woozy, syncopated feel of the strings in the B section.
the staccato strings feel a bit overbearing to me, especially once the low strings come in. I think the idea of a secondary rhythm for the melodies to interact with is interesting, but those big string hits end up crowding out the more varied melodies. a smaller sound (quartet vs. orchestra, maybe?) might mesh better with the rest of the orchestration.
Just looking at the track I was like "what is this going to be?" Heh.
It's a nice chord progression. Some of it maybe sounds a bit MIDI in a way that I think kind of detracts. But overall the direction is really interesting and unique.
Nicely done!
This is a really nice submission. I think possibly there's a few strange chords in there that don't quite work as they cause some clashes. For my personal tastes I think you could actually go with a bit less in the orchestration as there seems to be a lot going on instrument wise in a short space of time which from a listening standpoint gets a little overwhelming. Otherwise though I think you've got something really interesting! :)
I really like some of the melodies in here and the melodic ideas, I think if you worked on those chords in the background a little more this could be a really cool piece of work. I think if you wanted to portray that idea of a waterfall I would play around with that descending movement at the beginning and emphasize it even more.
Really hard to follow this track, I can't tell what you were going for or how it correlates to the theme. The panning is really far in both directions, with almost all the low end being in the right ear. I don't mean this in a rude way at all but it makes it somewhat hard to listen to in some cases.
It doesn't sound bad, but the organ is so out of place with the strings and orchestral segments.
