Description
This piece was created using armonyMaker14 for composition and mixed in Ardour, tailored specifically for the Impressions Composing Jam: Ambience #2. Inspired by the theme *The Lost City*, the track evokes the atmosphere of an ancient, mysterious civilization hidden in time.
Layered textures intertwine to create a sense of wonder and discovery, blending ambient drones, subtle harmonic progressions, and haunting melodies. The composition balances ethereal soundscapes with intricate rhythmic undertones, painting a vivid image of a forgotten metropolis, shrouded in mystery and overrun by nature.
Listeners are transported through vast, echoing corridors and overgrown ruins, accompanied by an evolving soundscape that captures the beauty and melancholy of rediscovery. Perfect for fans of ambient, cinematic, and thematic music.

For some reason it just trigger my nostalgia... anyway just like everyone else, you can change the velocity of the piano so it will be feel like it being played by human, and some low volume pad or a bit reverb can help.
I'm working on implementing a parameter in ArmonyMaker to humanize the timing and dynamics of the various musical instruments. As you can see from the Ardour screenshot, the reverb on the two pianos is set almost to the maximum, and in my headphones, it sounds just right.
Interesting take, I agree with the MIDI sound even though yes its midi files and I don't know how this DAW works but if you can mix up the velocity and modulation of the sound thats being played it would make the track sounds so much better, I think its a pretty good composition, with good articulations it will sound fantastic.
Piano is a little midi ish, like the melody could use a more dynamic articulation.
The atmosphere is nice though.
That polyrhythm towards the end is also really nice!
Nicely done Antonio!
good, as you know, my tracks are simple midi files :)
I love the cheerful vibe—it feels like exploring an old city in an RPG! Using some free VSTs could bring more variety instrumentally, and a bit more reverb on the piano and cello would enhance the mix. Great job overall!
Thank you :)
It sounds very chill :)
The composition has the vibe of some of the good old exploration adventure/rpg game. Definitely I wouldn't be surprised having it in the game background.
I really liked the sound of bass and drone effects. I still would say that overall sound was a bit of dry for my taste, it could benefit from reverb/echoing that will make the overall texture more smooth. Also the sound level of beginning and the part with all instruments playing is a bit too different.
Overall, good job!
