I'm working on implementing a parameter in ArmonyMaker to humanize the timing and dynamics of the various musical instruments. As you can see from the Ardour screenshot, the reverb on the two pianos is set almost to the maximum, and in my headphones, it sounds just right.

Listening to these three tracks has been quite an intriguing experience, especially from a composer's point of view. The first track feels more like an exploration of soundscapes rather than a traditional musical piece—it’s fascinating how sampled noises can evoke such texture and atmosphere, even if it doesn’t follow a conventional melodic or harmonic structure. The second track, with its extended pad on a single note, challenges the listener to focus on subtle shifts in timbre and dynamics. While it might feel minimalistic, it’s a bold statement in patience and restraint. Finally, the third track starts to unfold with more musical elements, and it’s here that I feel a stronger connection as a composer. The interplay of ideas and development hints at a narrative, which makes it the most engaging of the three for me. Each track, in its own way, offers a unique perspective on what music can be, and I appreciate the creativity behind them, even if they don’t all align with my personal approach to composition.

the cinematic style that distinguishes your songs is very recognizable. You use extra-instrumental sounds that help the imagination get to the heart of the scene.

Thank you  :)

good, as you know, my tracks are simple midi files :)

I really like the use of dynamics, in contrast to today's tastes which abuse compressors making everything flat.

unfortunately I am partially deaf, this creates many difficulties for me in my musical production. In any case, from around minute 1:40, while the bass follows the key of Eb min the pad seems a semitone lower, Dmin.

for a certain part of the track the bass line and the pads seem to follow 2 different tones creating a strange dissonance.

I was thinking of something more dramatic rather than relaxing, thanks anyway for listening and evaluating my work

Thanks for the review, I appreciate the constructive opinions :)

It would be nice to see more projects of this level. your song could very well become a reference for others, from a compositional point of view, choice and mixing of sounds, execution and general quality.

remarkable composition, very beautiful sounds. Overall great work

compositionally speaking, very minimal. sounds perhaps too acidic.

music on 2 chords. essential composition to say the least. great sounds

music practically from a single chord, it seems like a prayer, the minimalist composition shifts all the attention to the atmosphere.

my personal opinion is that within the group of tracks on this JAM, your proposal is among the most original. It stands out from the classic cinematic soundtrack style.

excellent arrangement, perhaps I would have slightly decreased the bpm to avoid the "spring-loaded robot" effect and give a more natural sensation in the performance of the bass and drums section.

classic cinematic soundtrack arrangement. The continuous drum solo seems like a dream theater section, I think slightly excessive within the musical theme.

good performance, classic orchestral arrangement with a cinematic edge

wonderful sounds, the choirs and the brass instruments especially. reminds me of many medieval movie musical themes.

I really like the stereo effect and harmonic progression.

there are several points, for example at second 13 where it seems that the kick and the bass note are out of sync. the general sound is too "muffled", I don't know if the English translation is effective in expressing the concept.

It's a tool I created in Python, it generates midi music tracks both automatically and based on user input, depending on what you want to achieve.

I like the execution and the use of dynamics, nice work

the correggio dome in the cathedral of Parma, I live nearby :)

it is interesting to note that your inspiration comes from very far back in time, while maintaining a modern compositional structure in my opinion, cinematic I would say..

thanks for the review, your observations are correct, the song was not mixed, but they are the sounds of a soundfont saved as is.

your song has a cinematic feel, it made me immerse myself in the scene. Well done.

KaleOverlord???!!!!!!!!

could i kindly have an explanation as to why i was banned from the jam?

in the meantime he unfairly banned me from this and other jams I wanted to participate in!

I really find it unfair of you to attack me unfairly, and at this point also of the promoter of the jam who cancelled my participation based on your insinuations. an unfounded suspicion is not enough to accuse people. an artificial intelligence would require gigabytes of data to work, my software weighs about 20mb. alternatively you could use an artificial intelligence service via the web but my software also works offline. this can be ascertained by anyone, and. as far as I'm concerned it proves that I have been unfairly defamed!

I changed the game mechanics to make it work only with the click of the button

I changed the game mechanics to make it work only with the click of the button

Thanks for the comment, more than a graphic button, I imagined the touch screen as a single button.

I'm the developer of https://astasio.itch.io/armonymaker

if you are interested, with armonyMaker you can create all the tracks you need with just one click.

Otherwise, if you like, I can generate some sample tracks for you to use in your game, just describe the mood it should have.
