Description
Boss music for the Mad King, and my submission for the Impressions Composing Jam.
Mountain of Madness would be a highly stylized, colorful action game. The soundtrack would be a mix of rock and electro. My entrie is the music of the confrontation with the Mad King, the final boss at the top of the mountain.
It's an electro-rock track that alternates between soft and hard phases. I wanted the guitar and synth to convey a sense of action, and the violin to bring back a noble feel to the music. The general tone is one of combat, madness, and the idea that it's almost the end (of the game).

I really liked your track and I love the instrumentation you chose for the submission. I could envision the boss battle as you described and I think the music works perfect for that :)
Love the dissonance around 1:50 and the legato on the lead synth. You're driving home a melody the whole time and it works out really well. It's got a lot of bass and low-mids which I dig, makes it sound nice and full. If you threw on a limiter you might be able to crank the volume up a little more???
Very nicely done, I like the dynamics of the tracks, nice low end. The only thing for me that I would work is the staccato strings, it seems out of place in the mix and maybe in the song, I think the synth sound choice are super cool but the staccato high string and maybe the cello legato at the end that needs a bit of work either melodically or just the sound itself.
Might seem a brutal comment but since its unranked I went all in to give my opinion, so don't be offended by it seems alot but its a nice track overall :)
excellent arrangement, perhaps I would have slightly decreased the bpm to avoid the "spring-loaded robot" effect and give a more natural sensation in the performance of the bass and drums section.
Thanks for listening, and thanks for your feedback; I'll pay closer attention to that!
Love the guitar👍
Thanks!
