The gameplay is nice, although jumping doesn't seem to serve any purpose. There's some issues though: you can buy spawn times to under 0 into negative numbers, which just wastes money and doesn't increase the spawn rate; the dying sounds of monsters and soldiers becomes really loud and annoying when a lot of them die at the same time, and when having really high spawn rates the game slows down A LOT because of so many things on screen.
Maybe you could add upgrades to the hero's walking and/or attack speed to help with the monsters piling up too much
Hi, thanks for the review. I have to correct a few things.
I love that you made an RPG incremental with this ascetic. The balance felt pretty good, and the graphics and audio go together well. This could be an even better Two Crowns for sure. Although, I was sad to find that I could kill my own minions -- also, sometimes I watched my coins drift down into oblivion at a 45 degree angle to the ground?
I cannot tell you how disappointed I was when I got to the edge of the map and couldn't advance with my mad jumping skills :( if this continued into a linear world to explore with the same incremental spirit, I'd pay money for it. I realize of course there's no way that would happen in this jam, but still, it immediately sucked me in and I dared to dream. Regardless, absolutely great job! This is inspiring.
P.S. I was really hoping to make a three-deep stack of enemies to cover the tutorial text but they just started overflowing into my base instead, so this is what you get.
Never mind, I finally got it randomly in web view (not maximized, hence the "Rate for..." button from the Itch page over it)
Thank you for your comments! I do have a few bugs to fix when the Jam is over. And I would like to expand it a little more, and polish the mechanics.
fun
Thank you!
Nice game, really balanced. I liked it and played to a point there was so many things on screen my pc was struggling, but I just couldn't stop :D
Thank you! Yes i have to fix that
Fun! Super simple gameplay loop with nice graphics. Lags like crazy if you let the monsters and soldiers pile up without picking up the coins and occasionally culling them. I really want to see more!
Thank you!! hehe yes, i forgot to put a limit on simultaneous units. Will fix after jam ends.
The art is really cool , the little raisin dudes that spawn in and help you is a really nice touch. Music was nice but old real quick . The game play loop is good but I want to see more. The jump button needs some purpose. Overall It runs great no issues or bugs except coins fall through ground but I think maybe the developers intended for that to happened. ;)
Overall I would buy this game if the concept was made into a full game. Great work !
Thank you! I think i can expand more when the jams end
The game looks awesome and I love the sound effects! Killing the monsters feels nice and the music is pretty good. It's a small, but well done game! Good job :)
Thank you!!
I liked the idea of the game. The background was incredible. But the gameplay felt a little small. Maybe I would add more progression and more upgrades. Also, why buy more enemies? Mechanic wise I understand, but in lore, it sounds a little counter-intuitive.
Thanks, the background is from The Flavare swamp pack. They have beautiful assets. More enemies, more kills, more money. Thanks for your comment.
I'm sorry I don't think I made myself clear. I am not saying that you need new enemies, thought that would also be great, what I meant was that the characters could evolve like Pokemons
I really love the play and idea of this game! I think it help to also have at least an option for a more... written/clear indicator of how many coins you have? I think having them over the head is great and shouldn't go, but also maybe a counter or something as a part of the UI just to keep a bit clearer track without having to count in my head haha
thank you for the comment. Yeah, I should give more work to the UI
thanks You!
