Very depressing!

I got the message across!

I like the hand drawn art style and nice music.  Excellent story.  Impressive getting all that and the audio done in a short time.  Game was quite bleak, but it does fit the theme really well and you did provide a warning.

All in in, a good game, but personally I'd ditch the long and slow maze section.  It took me around 10 minutes just to get out of there, despite the game page claiming the whole game only takes 10 minutes.  A lot of people would ditch the game during that stage, I'm glad I didn't.

Spoiler at the end to who has not played yet...
Thank you, the audio was something I did not make during the jam, but a long time ago (3 of 4 a year ago, 1 was mad 10 months ago) for ost jams. So that saved me some time as I used them like anyone else uses a purchased asset. The maze I now get takes longer than expected, if you know the fastest route the game takes around 10 minutes (maze is 1:25 to 2:00). I plan to expand on the game and make the maze clearer, or simpler, but not drop it because it is meant to resemble the start of the child's coma.

Great story and matches the theme perfectly.

Thank you!

The atmosphere is very on point, congratulations, we can feel this game!

Developer

Thank you, glad to hear!

You nailed the atmosphere with the color choice and the music. Definitely not the ending I was expecting too. My only real feedback would be the movement speed is a bit too slow for my taste and the intro area was very hard to tell where I was supposed to be going. Otherwise solid game and a unique take on the theme!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I was thinking of making the correct path slightly lighter as a hint, but I instead devided to make the maze smaller.

Loved the sound and the atmosphere of the game! Although the character was slower than a turtle, I truly had a wonderful time playing this game. Overall a great game!

Developer

Thank you! I kept rebalancing the speed and at some point I thought "if i change it one more time i will for sure break something" so i kept it on this. Funny enough, next thing i did broke more stuf! Hahaha

The theme was met the only problem i had was that he was too slow and  it made it long to get through the map. Very nice story tho.

Developer

Thank you! Yes the movement speed was me giving up on balancing hahaha

That was extremely on theme, and the mechanics strongly emphasize the mood of the character. The music was fantastic.

Developer

I've been waiting to make this game for a LONG time! Seeing the theme made me so happy because finally for once i was prepared. I'm glad you liked the music, when I made them for OST jams, O knew I will use tjem once I make this game.

At the beginning, I was about to give up in the labyrinth (I went the wrong way for 10 minutes. My bad).

I'm glad I didn't. Sad story. I won't do spoilers but, I expected it from people, but from him? I'll never trust anyone again.

Developer

I'm also glad you didn't give up! At first I didn't want to make a labyrinth, but I felt like I wanted to hide easter eggs off screen and I wanted  the long walk of emptyness to be more than just a curvy road.

Oh quick question, have you found

 all 3 endings?

Submitted

Only one: the "bad one" I think. I want to play almost all the submitted games and I don't have enough time haha

I'll try to find another ending when the jam is over.

Developer

Ok cool! If you play through it once, you can press Y to ga back to the start of the final level. I don't know if that works after closing the game tho.
