The gameplay is basic, but suprisingly fun! I loved the descriptions! At first i thought to to give gameplay 3 stars, but couldn't force myself to give such a low rating to this game.

Thanks! We would not be offended by such score, no worries. This is our first bigger jam where people rate games and leave comments and it's been a blast! Thank you for giving our game a shot and rating.

Very cute and relaxing game, like the description of each item.

Great choice and use of assets!
Aliens are proud!

This is a fun and quirky game. The sound was good. The comments when items were successfully picked up were a good humorous addition. Nice job!

This is a neat little game. With more ship controls, humans to somehow hide from, and quicker beam-up times, this could be a fun project. I like the overall sense of humor.

This was quite interesting gameplay here! I like the fact that I had to be carefully moving while hovering over the items to pick them up. The comments are a great addition to awards for getting the items up. Good submission here!

Quite simple and funny game, I especially like the assets which you picked for items (frying pan, gamepad, etc) and notes which shown when items being picked up. Great submission overall!

Developer

I just randomly picked those items, nice they are good! :D

Nicely done! From a purely FTUE point of view, having the very first item be e.g. at the centre of the screen, so that you have to move there would probably be good :D I spent a little too much time realizing I could actually move to the left (since it looked like it was the edge of the screen, but it wasn't!). Once I figured out the mechanic it was a fun time!

I know there wasn't any time during the jam for it, but this could've been a really fun semi-stealth game, where the goal is to steal items from oblivious humans in their natural environment (so e.g. stealing the cooking pan off the stove) - the challenge could be to wait until the humans turn their backs and then pick it up. Even just having the items in their natural environments though would've been super cool - and worked a little better with the 'exploration' theme.

Still, fully workable, and good work on the descriptions!

Nice acronym there :P didn't know it beforehand. I agree the left movement was a bit of a gotcha thing especially for the hidden item on the very left. In the end we tried to resort to subliminal messages to do that tutorial part (placement of the sun after moving to toothbrush etc). :D turns out our mind control ability might have been insufficient. It was also brutal that game completion required all 8 of 10 items without showing any UI for found items e.g.  2/8 or item locator UI next to ship.

Our shortcoming was to provide secondary challenging game mechanic like you said. Stealth would have been amazing. We focused on finishing this time since it's devastating not to finish and some parts of crafting a good gaem were left out. The game design portion is very important. The items being in more believable setting would have been super cool (and making sure they pop out from their surrounding). Great idea.

If we have bigger team next jam we'll definitely try to improve on these kind of things. Originally we made the game for phones. That control scheme took about 1-2 hours of dev time.

I'll remember to pat Neo on the head on the descriptions once again. And thank you for this detailed report!! Very helpful.

Developer

That is really nice idea!

Cute game! I enjoyed reading all of the descriptions of the items from the alien perspective :)

The main loop is a bit slow and repetitive, but the little comments kept me going. Thank you for sharing!

Developer

Thanks! I love constructive feedback.

Thank you!

The comments  and the "story" were really fun and the game mechanic was alright. I think some kind of obstacle or challange would give it a lot.

Developer

Yes haha. Neo did great work on those. I see what you mean. Thanks for your comment!

Well, now I know how "Universal" Universal Serial Bus is. 🤣🤣🤣

Developer(+1)

Lol! It's a plug and play interface after all!

Developer(+1)

Yup. Of course it works! Just have to figure out which side goes up and which down... XD

Developer

Found any easter eggs btw...?

Also remember you can go to left in starting. There are 10 objects total and 2 are not collectable.
