I love your game, I've completed all the stages! congratulations for your work

Nice little puzzle game, good job!

just wow. everything is amazing! The music, the puzzle system, the leveldesig, the polish. Sooo good. Just wow!

This is jam game perfection. It's the right scope, the right level of polish, easy to pick up, difficult to master, innovative, and tied to the jam theme. I really have nothing bad to say about this game. The only issue is that the play area was kind of small for managing all the pieces, but I think that was due to being in the browser. Now that I mention it, I think I forgot to check if there was a full screen option, so I may have just missed it. I had a blast and will definitely be coming back to finish up the rest of the levels once I get through rating a bunch more games.

Developer

So much nice feedback! Szym made the good point of making the pieces go left to right instead of top to bottom which would make more room so I'm re-designing for that. I'd love to know if you have any more feedback after finishing the game!

I went back and finished the game. The only thing I never understood was the point of the "buffer" gate. As far as I could tell, it seemed to have the same effective behavior as "push", but perhaps subject to real-time inputs? Which would ironically make it the only gate that DOESN'T buffer. In fact, in order to solve a bunch of the later puzzles, I ended up creating what I think of as a buffer out of a long chain of "reflect" gates just to act as a trash bin for discarding unwanted outputs. In the end, I completed the game without ever using "buffer".

Developer

That's an interesting way of completing the levels! I guess it's a side-effect of only needing a set amount of sequences to complete the level, there's not meant to be any discarded outputs. The point of the buffer is to combine two connections into one, so you can connect up different things to one action (I guess it was a bad naming choice, I copied the object from a buffer action I didn't use but never got around to changing the text). Here's how I use it in the first level with a buffer https://streamable.com/00n2jd . I'd love to see some of your solutions to the levels! I'm going to be posting updates in the discord server linked in the games description so I'd be grateful for your input during development

This is a very good game. Very intriguing puzzles. Nailed the theme.

Small feedback:

  • Add incentive to use the least amount of materials to finish the sequence
  • Allow users to rotate the sequencers

Overall this was a very well executed game! Great job!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed! What do you mean by the sequencers? Everything in the game should be rotatable by pressing right-click whilst moving something

Nice game; I liked the concept and you executed it well. The later puzzles especially had some real depth to them that was fun to get into, as well as to try and think of the most efficient way of solving the puzzle. It would be nice to see some way of knowing if your solution was efficient or not. Also, it would be cool if the elements had something on them (arrows maybe? idk) to give a little hint visually as to which order the inputs and outputs were in, because I found I had to keep checking the description in the menu.

Overall I really liked the game - it held my attention for a long time!

Developer

Thank you! I'm going to try and a histogram-type scoreboard which shows how your solutions ranks against other players, and yeah I'm working on making the design of the elements easier to read. If you want updates on the game or to get free access to the beta I've put a discord server invite link in the games description

It is a good game, But i have hard times getting how to make the connections. Any way good job, maybe my brain is slow.

Very Cool Game ! Match the theme perfectly.

Lots of content for a jam game. Kuddos on that !

I'm a Big fan of shapez & factorio so I was totally up for the whole ride & I just past the last 45min going through all the levels.

Few feedbacks if you decide to iterate on it (Please do because I want more ^^)

  • I kept wanting to click & drag at first instead of click, drag & click.
  • Maybe rotate the element by default so they would go left to right instead of top to down. since you have more space to organize your sequences on the screen that way.
  • Consider always displaying the panel for easy access so you can drag & drop element in the scene easily (you can make it smaller, right now it take a lot of space when open) this would also make deleting an element less painfull.
  • The moving shapes are shaded where the rest of the elements are flat.  which make it a bit weird to look at. You should pick one style & stick to it so the whole thing is more coherent.
  • maybe give an incentive to use as less elements as possible to produce the more efficent sequence possible ( Hight low score), or put a limited number of each element to add some challenge ?

That said, I had a great time going through your game. and would enjoy playing it again if you decide to continue it after the jam.

Cheers !

That's some very insightful feedback! Thank you! I'll definitely be implementing what you've suggested. My goal is to release an update in mid-july so if you want to suggest things whilst I'm developing the game I've put a discord server link in the games description, It'd be really helpful to have this kinda feedback throughout development. Do you have plans to continue developing your game jam entry?

Thanks ! That's very cool to read :)
I'll gladly join the discord.
I'm not sure if I'm gonna iterate on my entry but I will at least give it a post jam update depending on the feedbacks I receive on it.

I started working on a more long term game on my spare time but it's still a bit early in the developement ^^
