Did you work in a team?
Nope.

Was the resolution a challenge?
Making things fit was definitely a challenge. Text was especially difficult to make fit. Creating an art mock-up before starting coding definitely helps.

What did you learn?
I learned how to use Godot control nodes, since this is a 100% GUI game. This was also my first time finishing a game with my own art.

Nice graphics, interesting game! I included it in my LowRezJam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

It's my first time seeing someone play through my game. Thanks!

Good job! It looked good and it sounded good. I feel the restricted color palette wasn't the best choice for this game though, especially once you start buying more ingredients. It becomes harder to tell what everything is at a glance. Same with customers being the same, its hard to tell who ordered what.

On the topic of more ingredients, i really liked the mechanic of buying more ingredients as you go! It puts the difficulty in the players hands, and reigns in overzealous players. The better and faster you are at pizza making, the harder it gets.

What I think really sold everything for me was during my first run when the Only order I got the entire day was " a cheese pizza, with pepperoni, without cheese." And I swear it was the same guy!! Just coming back over and over again so he can shove another saucey sausage pizza down his throat.

Developer

Yeah the color palette definitely came to bite me when it came to the ingredients. I did intend to have multiple customer sprites though, I just ran out of time.

Glad you enjoyed the game!

This is great! The art is perfect and the game is a good mix of relaxing and stressful (when I inevitably mess up orders). I spent I think the entire first day messing up orders because I didn't notice the sauce! (I improved on day 2 don't worry haha)

I also loved the customer orders. "One cheese pizza without cheese" is really funny! I also appreciated the flavor text for the ingredients.

I love your color palette. It's super stylized and works so well with this game.

Awesome work!

edit: sorry my comment for some reason triple posted on itch. I deleted my duplicate comments, sorry about that!

Developer

Thank s for playing! I'm glad someone appreciated the flavor text lol!

A nice game about cooking pizza. I really like these games, so I was glad for it. I was a little confused when on the first day everyone asked me for pizza without cheese, especially when they asked for cheese pizza without cheese but with pepperoni.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, I intended it to have some silly orders lol. Hopefully, it wasn't too confusing.

The art style and music is awesome. Unlike other cooking games with time pressure this one felt really comfy to play. :)  Well done!

Developer

Thank you!

ayyy that was very enjoyable. I really like the colors and the sprites are looking really nice <3

Developer

Thanks! I figured since it's a small resolution, small palette might also be nice.

some objects such as the dough can be placed down. Click on the dough then click on the table. Some objects can be used on other objects. Click on the rolling pin then click on the dough.

I put-a the pizza into the oven, but-a the disappears when it's-a cooked, and I don't know where it goes! I'm going to try this game again later, but it could use some more intuitive routines!

Developer

Hmm... I've never had that happen when I was testing it. Can you show a screenshot?

Submitted

Don't know if I'm doing it wrong, but here's a gif of the Pizza cooking!

Developer(+1)

Oh lol the pizza's still there. The color just turned darker because It's cooked and the oven's light is off. Just click the oven and then click the table to take it out. Maybe I shouldn't have made the pizza the same color as the inside of the oven.

I got really good at making a no-cheese pepperoni pizza, haha. I only wish there had been another Customer sprite to help keep track of who ordered what. I didn't manage to pay off the debt, but I will come back and have another go. (And, hey, good job with the control nodes--that's currently the bane of my existence, so I'm impressed!)

Developer

Yeah, unfortunately i didn't have time to make new customer sprites. But that was the original plan.

Thanks for playing. Glad you liked it.

Very clean game : audio, art, etc. Very funny to see the confusing orders of cheese pizza without cheese. Well done :) !

Looks great... but how do I select ingredients? Instructions say mouse only but left highlights and right gives info.

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Click on an object then click on where you want to place it. Like this:

(The gif might not loop, so just refresh the page to restart the gif)
