This is probably my favorite game I've played in the jam so far. I love one-screen platformers like this, and it feels extremely tight and satisfying to control.
Thank you!
Graphics are absolut great. Music is a little bit too slow for my taste, but thats just me.
But great game, love it!
Thanks. It's not just you, they are pretty slow but I had to write 3 songs in 2 days so didn't have a chance to think about it
The presentation and polish is great, a simple idea, with many levels to have fun with.
On the gameplay side, it is a bit frustrating, the platforming could be more friendly to the player. Like other mentioned the coyote time could be a bit longer.
Reading some comments and responses, I would say that many people found my games hard as well, in the end I believe it's better to risk having an easy game that makes players feel bored or invincible rather than a very hard game that frustrates players and makes them feel "bad".
Overall a very good game, I hope you balance the platforming a bit post-jam because I bookmarked it :D
Thanks for the feedback, don't think we would change the core mechanics because that would mean clearing the leader boards and people already put plenty of time grinding levels. But I am definitely considering making more levels for the game after the jam, so I might add an easier area at the start
I am a huge fan of N+ or N++, so this game for me was awesome! loved it, Great job with the gameplay, Music, SFX, and overall feel of this game
Thanks, I'm a fan of N games too, some of the obstacles are inspired by them.
Now that you say that and as i think back to the game i can see it!!!
Wonderful! Loved the art, it's got a really well defined style which works well with the very precise control needed to get through some of the tricky platforming sections. The music is great too :)
Controlling the character was a lot of fun - there's a distinct weighty/snappy feel to movement that's quite distinct from anything else I've played. I'd agree with some of the other comments that the difficulty is a little high at points, and the slightly more forgiving hitboxes and a little coyote time might improve the experience. With that being said, I loved the level design - the stages are really well put together and nicely sequenced, feeling very distinct and full of fun challenges!
Thoroughly enjoyed this one :)
Thanks, we are both hardcore 2d platformer players, so we didn't realize the game was too hard almost everyone mentioned that difficulty was too hard hehe, game has cayote time but the time window is much less then most game mostly because levels were too small we didn't want to make it too easy. Well, glad you enjoyed it overall!
Makes sense to me on coyote time - didn't consider how the resolution would affect it but totally makes sense! Great game :)
Amazing gameplay and pixel art. Great work!
thanks, I like your game too!
I really liked this game! The art style is perfect and made the most of the resolution. The concept is great and the levels are designed really well. The only complaint I would have is that the game felt too punishing in certain areas like the hitboxes for the green blocks in the first area. I also kept turning around right before swinging but I probably just need to get used to that. Really impressive game though and I’m definitely gonna come back to this in the future
Thank you, yes game takes some to get used to, and making the levels easier wouldn't help with this issue either
Love the pixel art and how polished this is! Could not get past the D section, levels 8 and 9 were too difficult for me. Overall I found the difficulty escalated too quickly and some levels required way more precision than I could handle. I found even the level selection a bit too finicky, although I loved the idea of integrating it in the gameplay rather than making it a menu or something else. Nice job!
Thanks, we were expecting some people to find it too difficult, I guess difficulty curve could be better,
Also you can progress to next area without needing to complete every level If you have enough orbs, So you can skip some levels in each area if you don't like them or find it too hard
