Was the resolution a challenge?
The resolution was a challenge since we used Unity, there might be a little jitter, please be merciful we spent countless hours to try and snap everything on the 64x64 grid :((

What did you learn?
We learned that having a Pixel Artist in the team would have been really nice

Great graphics, sound, and music! Very coherent game altogether. As two negatives I would say the game could have benefitet from smaller characters (and so a wider field of view) and a bit more clarity in the combat design. In particular I think the number of different kind of plants/weapons/resources you have to track in terms of both combat and farming was a bit too much to handle during the hectic combat, but to be fair that might be the intended challenge here.

nice graphics, but i think thegame benefited more from using smaller sprites. very good audio. gameplay wise there was a lot of information on the screen so i sometimes lost in it

Very fun game, difficulty curve works well, Easy at first to learn then harder and harder. Trade off between planting and shooting is cool, and the chaos later in the game is a lot of fun. Being able to see a bit more would be nice! Great game!

We received much feedback about the viewport so we will surely modify it! We won't make it so you see the whole 4 plots but at least a bit more so it's less frustrating. Thank you very much for your feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

Haha! That’s some radical gardening! I had fun! I liked the upbeat/quirky mood of the game. The music is ace! If I may suggest a possible improvement – I think the sprites should’ve been just a little smaller so we could see more enemies at once! Or perhaps you could just expand the viewport a bit if you’re going to continue developing this after the jam is over?

Yeah we kind of dislike the zoom as well, we will expand the viewport a bit and/or if a pixel artist comes forth we will readapt the graphics!

Good use of the plants as weapons theme.  I must not be very good at it though, kept running out of veggies to throw before the new ones could grow, lol.

Nah, I just suck at managing my resources, I have the same problem in a LOT of games.  Only real suggestion I have is some sort of indicator showing what other veggies you happen to have in your inventory, though I know the resolution makes that a bit hard to pull off without cluttering up the limited screen real-estate.

You're right, we actually didn't think about the UI in a "resource based" manner, we framed it as a bullet hell, but as you said it's much better to know how many crops of each type you have at the same time

Frantic farming action in this one :) Playing space is a bit tight and you end up in a mess in no time due to lack of visibility of what you have around. Other than that very fun to play and a nice concept needing to grow your ammo. Music is also really fit to the fast paced action style. Great job!

Yeah unfortunately it's kind of a headache, the player needs to move the camera around a lot with the mouse to understand where enemies are coming from. We will zoom out the viewport post-jam and test it, I hope you'd stick around for some playtesting if you're interested :D

Greate game, fast and hard a bit. I can't understand, if i able to choose what type of plant i am going to plant or not? And maybe you will add some 'eating crops' animations to monsters, sometimes in a hurry there are not so readable.

The plant you're planting is the same that you selected for shooting! It uses the same ammo, we should make it clearer, thank you very much for the feedback :D I was going to do animations, didn't manage in time, but I'd like to improve the graphics post-jam

Hmmm, until the wave 6 i cant choose any plant, instead of  the first crops. Need more clarification =)

Oh, that's strange, there should be only 4 plants, you should be able to select them by scrolling the mouse wheel or pressing buttons from 1 to 4, does it not work?

Really cool game i tried to make plant growth in my game but in yours it seems much better implemented, bom jogo para farmar lol.

Super fun game! I like how you have to juggle lots of things happening (planting, fighting, switching your weapons, protecting your plants, protecting yourself), and the very well made music of the game follows this theme.

One thing I think would improve the experience is maybe a UI indicator or something to show where the enemies are coming from. I don't know if it would take some away from the hectic nature of the game, but I found myself running around like crazy to figure out what enemy was eating my crops. Come to think of it, this is likely intentional haha.

I love that there are different weapons with different effects.

Thanks, it's good to know that you enjoyed it :D We would like to work more on the UI, we initially wanted to make 3D audio with spawning sounds to guess where the monsters come from, but there are enough sounds. Maybe some small arrows on the edge of the screen could do, we'll have to see after the jam if we can zoom out the camera a bit!

This game made me feel like saying the word "varmint" multiple times. Really fun combo of farming and top down shooter, i like the combat utility the eggplant provides.

The most accurate implementation of “Plants As Tools” theme! It has already been mentioned here that the field of view is very limited, this is perhaps the only remark. In general, a cool and very funny game and very cool pixel art.

That was fun. I love the idea of enemies eating the plants. It was kinda hard to rotate around the plant weapons though so I just stayed with the hay bullet. I think a UI for that would be neat. I had a similar idea of rotating weapons through the mouse wheel but it doesn't to work as much in a fast-paced game, IMO. Well done overall. Loved the cover image!

Thank you for your feedback, we actually didn't add it in the controls but you can change crops also with the numbers 1,2,3,4 ! You might want to give it a try, we feel the game is much more fun using tomatoes that explode and eggplants that freeze enemies :D

Fun and chaotic! The pixel art, music, sound effects and gameplay all work super well together!

My only gripe is that the camera is very zoomed in, but I guess that's difficult to work around when you've only got 64 pixels on each axis to work with, lol
