Great work! The game was really enjoyable and addicting to play! Not to mention how smooth and clean the gameplay feels. Amazing work and I would love to see more games like this!

Simply incredible. Wow. The gameplay is simple but challenging! Love the tutorial at the beginning too!! VERY well done <3

Simple concept really well executed! Nice variation of enemies and neat hazards on the play area! Kinda wish I knew which enemies the sword goes through and which not (felt bullets and the splitted enemies maybe?) and a little background ost would be a nice addition!

Otherwise, cool entry! 87!

Developer

Thank you! The sword goes through bullets.

I really like that the sword wielding mechanics has its own "physics", as opposed to being just a simple animation. :)

There is also a solid variety of enemies and sound (both music and SFX) firs very well with the game, making it even more juicy. Great work! :D

Fun game! Got 146! image.png

Did come across a bug where 3-didget score pop-ups with multiple wider characters would cause it to linebreak and look awkward - purely cosmetic and should be an easy fix though.

Developer(+1)

I noticed that glitch aswell , I may upload a new version with the bug fixed some day.

I like this kind of arcade proposition with a good idea well exploited. The graphic style is very classy with the good graphic effects that go well! Each hit is a party! There are the right indications on the screen to announce what is going to happen. And above all I like the fact that there is no fat and that we go directly to the gameplay. And I really liked the work on the itch.io page it is always a plus for me. what is your best score?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, I think my best score is like 96

This is definitely one of the highlights of this jam! The audio is great, the graphics are simple yet effective, and the mechanic is just addicting. I couldn’t get myself off the game for over 10 minutes. I love it; great work!

The overall feel and cohesion of everything was top notch. There's something about how it all comes together that I enjoyed and it was easy to get into the flow. This is one of the first games I played from the jam and I've came back to it a couple of times just to see if I could beat my high score.

Nice game page as well!

This is an utterly fantastic entry.  The controls are great - swinging the sword around feels smooth and chaining hits off of enemies feels juciy.

The random environmental hazards are a wonderful edition and keep you on your toes a lot. I like how their presence forces you to move with thought.

The art is great too - very simplistic and apparant. I love the design of the skeleton on the games key art.

My only complaint is that the game starts off a little slow on subsequent attempts. I'd make it so the second run gets you into the action faster.

Great polished game. I chuckled when I died and exploded. There’s a lot of opportunities for expansion too (upgrades to stats and whatnot).

The gameplay was a little easy starting off, and it may not be a bad idea to increase the difficulty faster to get to the more chaotic bits.

5 stars in all categories, except gameplay (4 stars). Gameplay very exciting and game feels very cool but too straight. IMHO gameplay mechanic lacks some variability for example different weapons with different lengths, rotating speeds, unique mechanics.

Developer

Thanks, I may expand it later

Came back to beat my earlier score. Did not beat score but got a 69 - that'll do!

Big fan of this one. For me this is the essence of a jam game, a simple concept made out of constraints (you have only one weapon and it's spinning constantly) and expanding upon that concept. No complicated story or characters, pure gameplay. Nice style of visuals and high score elements gives it that arcade element of wanting to play one more game.
