The artwork is fantastic! I like the designs of both characters. It took me a while to learn that the game was indeed more of a "get a high score" type than a bullet hell, but that's alright with me - it meant I could actually finish the game without using a dozen continues lol
Thanks for the feedback ! I'm surt the designer will be proud :)
Yeah we figured it would be less frustrating if it was about a high score and not just getting destroyed every single time. Apparently players like to suffer, so we'll probably add a lunatic mode with game overs when the jam is over.
Cheers!
Cute concept, I love the vegan magical girl vs meat villain gag. :)
The artwork, music, and SFX are all good and work well. I especially like the character designs. The gameplay is solid. I saw someone else mention this, but it did seem like the kind of game that should have a tiny hit box. That said, it seems it's more of a score attack than "avoid all the bullets or else" type game. I got an "A" my first run, and a "S***" my second run. It's pretty short, but fun enough I came back for that second round! Great work :)
That's some really good feedback from one of the games I think will be on the top of the ladder😚!
Appreciate the feedback and I'm happy for it, we had ideas for more bosses but I think we worked hard enough to have one but as polished as possible.
When the jam's over we'll probably have another look at the things are most mentioned, like the hit box stuff :)
Cheers and thanks for playing!
I meet the one of the bug in the known bug list. It's the one where I can shoot both bullets type at the same time after transforming while shooting the bullets. This bug make the game a lot easier. I didn't encounter the other bugs though.
The straight forward bullet will stop shooting if you keep pressing the shoot button after a while. Dunno if this is intentional or a bug. The problem might also be on my end since I'm using an old machine.
The playable character hitbox is too large for my taste. It cannot fit in the gap between the enemy's bullets.
That being said, I actually having fun when playing the game. Good work!
Thanks for playing! :)
We plan to work on these bugs when the jam is over, had to deal with plenty of more urgent stuff like game crashing bugs or pooling for optimization.
When testing, I tried to use shooting patterns with a few bullets only, enough to dodge them all, but being frank and Touhou inspired, felt a bit empty. That's why I went for the "dodge as many as you can't, but not all of them" approach.
Anyway, your feedback is noted, of course! Appreciate you sharing it and taking the time to play :D
Cheers
I had fun with the game!
I like that the boss has different phases and bullet patterns per phase.
Would love to see more characters and powers in a future version!
Very neat that you added some concept art to the game!
Also, I found it funny that one of the difficulty options was "Extreme Vegan" lol
Great work on this!
Thanks for the feedback! :) Appreciate you noted the details of every small thing. We worked hard on having a short game but with as much quality as possible.
PS: Extreme vegan remembers me so much to Scott Pilgrim vs The World. You should watch it if you haven't already.
Cheers and thanks!
