How does your game fit those theme(s)?
As corruption spreads throughout the levels, you form lines with purifier crystals to "recollect" lines of uncorrupted tiles. The main antagonist causes Plasma Star a lot of grief as well.

Impressive! I've always wanted to make a tactical RPG, but it seems like it'd be a lot of work, especially for a game jam... and yet, you've pulled it off!

I liked the variety of abilities the player has, and figuring out the best combo of movement and attacks was fun! It'd be cool to see a full team of characters, though I imagine that'd be tough for a game jam period. I also really liked the hand-drawn artwork!

Great job, I hope you'll keep working on this game!

It was indeed a ton of work, but I'm really pleased with what I was able to accomplish.

I'm glad you liked it! I am still developing it, and more cast members are planned.

Thanks for playing it!

Very nice, I love TRPG's!

Interesting to keep the health and abilities the same throughout the levels, makes it more challenging each level! XD

The crayon background and art is a nice touch to help the game stand out!

I'm a big fan of the Fire Emblem games, would neat to see some future content with more characters, enemies and boss types! :D

Great work on this!

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I really like the idea of keeping health between levels - that's something I'm looking into. It'll be a while before I get to that, but I agree that would help amp up the challenge. More characters, enemy types, and bosses are planned too!

Fire Emblem Heroes is a huge inspiration for this game, but without the powercreep and the gacha elements, so I'm happy to hear you mention Fire Emblem.

Thanks for the feedback!

The crayon-styled drawings and the tactical RPG gameplay surprised me in a good way :)

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed both the art and the game :D

It's a great puzzle game!

The visuals are a bit simplistic (I was hoping to see more crayon drawings, that would be cool!), but they work well for the purpose of being easily readable.

This calm music perfectly fits the tactical gameplay.

I had a minor issue with a tiny game window on a 4k display, but that could be easily solved on my side by switching the resolution to 800x600.

I can see that controls are already mentioned in the comments, here are my opinion on how they could be improved (I am pretty sure you know all of that, but just in case):

  • unify the menu option selection between choosing an action and choosing a skill (e.g. use arrows+enter in both menus)
  • use the same buttons for the same actions in different situations (e.g. "enter" to confirm and "backspace"/"esc" to cancel the command or go back in the menu)

It was surprising to see my tactics of running away and placing crystals worked so well on the last level ¦3

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Pixel art is definitely a weak spot for me lol, but I'm glad you enjoyed the drawings still.

I appreciate the other feedback as well - I'll look into making the controls more user-friendly and getting window scaling working down the line.

A tactical RPG? Didn't expect to see one here. The battle quite balance but some stages starting position make it more like a puzzle rather than tactical RPG. I like the hand drown stuff. It is really nice.

Anyway, good work with this entry!

Thank you!

Here are our team members thoughts on this game!

bagel: I really liked this game! The gameplay was fun, the peeks into the lore of the world were intriguing, and I liked the music. The sfx were a bit loud and I thought the controls were a tiny bit confusing, because they weren't near each other on the keyboard, but other than that this game is super cool.

AJ: I thought it was awesome and I really liked the hand drawn art and the writing! :)

Key: I like where the story was going and the premise was interesting. I don't see a lot of games with hand drawn art and I did like that. I think there was a lot of thought put into the gameplay and how it ties into Plasma Star. Overall, very nice game  !! :]
