How does your game fit the Magical Girl genre?
Our main character is a magical girl, who can transform and has a cute companion on her side. The story is a more light-hearted spin on the Magical Girl trope.
Which theme(s) do you pick?
World Vanquisher
How does your game fit those theme(s)?
A World Vanquisher is attacking our world and we fight him. Also the theme is implemented in the story. We want to show, that not only a planet can be vanquished but also a heart.
If you follow any of the optional challenges, elaborate as you like.
We added a laundromat into the plot and our UI.
Were the assets for your game made during the jam? Elaborate as you see fit.
Everything is made during the Jam.

finish the story mode in my first try. Short and nice. challeging but not too much. Good job
Took a while to figure out that there are shield minions but finally did it after three tries.
This is not a polished product (in particular there is a lack of feedback), but in general I did have fun.
Thanks for participating!
I beat the story mode! Love the bait at the end. The minor enemies also have interesting expression. While not impossible, the enemies' bullets are challenging enough to keep the game interesting. The intro cutscene and ending are also beautifully done. The BGMs are also great and fit within the game.
That being said, I encounter a few issue (and maybe a bug) in this game. First, it is hard to find the player's hitbox. Second, please put the bullet in front of the character instead so it easier to maneuver in the narrow gap between bullets. And the last one, when I tried moving with the arrow keys, the character only move one pixel for each press. Dunno if the last problem is on my end tho.
While not affecting my gameplay in the story mode, all those issues are making the extreme mode harder than it should be.
Anyway, this is a good game! Good job with that!
Short but sweet! I really liked the story segments, great artwork! The story was cute, especially the ending. The bullet-hell gameplay in storymode was just the right challenge for a bullet-hell novice like myself (though with the number that get submitted to each MGGJ I've played more than I ever imagined I would by now)
Great work on this!
The drawn cutscene segments were gorgeous! The character designs were also very good. (A black hole for a head? I love it!)
I would like a bit more variance with the minor enemies and their firing patterns, just to shake things up a bit. The big bad's health pool is big enough that I think implementing some more phases for him would be a welcome addition.
Congrats on a job well done!
Im happy you liked our Design that much uwu
Thank you so much for playing and giving feedback, we will take it in mind!
Fun little game, the comic style segments are very nicely done and helps set the tone. Story is a bit goofy and cliché; but let's be honest, that's what the magical girl genre is all about.
A few suggestions:
First of the cloud things that maintain the barrier are a bit too dark, on a low brightness screen they are nearly indistinguishable from the black background. Overall a brighter colour would help them stand out and make it more obvious you are supposed to target them.
Secondly I'd suggest moving the hitbox into the torso area and maybe a bit smaller. Also try adding a glowing orb/heart that is slightly bigger than the hitbox, this would help with visual clarity in regards to bullet dodging. As a general rule for games like this, always give the player more leeway than than they think they have. If giving them a small hitbox makes the game too easy, then all that means is its time for more bullets ;)
Now with those nit-picks aside, its a neat little game that's fun to kill time with, and holds plenty of potential for growth. Good job on the submission.
Thank you so much for playing!
Yeah we really wanted to cliché, good to hear we got that right ;)
Also thank you for the feedback. It's much appreciated. The hit box seems to be one of the biggest problems so far, it's a good idea to make the collision a bit smaller than the gem. This would lean more into fun than frustration, because you feel out of control.
Have a nice day uwu
Cute little bullet hell with nicely drawn story segments.
The hardest part was the hitpoint size and location, which I still can't confidently explain even after a dozen deaths.
Thanks for the feedback!
We should make the hitbox of the character more clear in the future :3
