Use of the limitation
I took a literal interpretation of the theme - being you're keeping someone alive by managing their organs as applications. There's also an element of this your life now as the job is seemlingly endless

nicely done.  good use of limitation.

This game is really fun and inventive, the tutorial is definitely helpful! Keep up the great work!

Super super awesome look and feel and perfect use of the limitation. The game itself was a little confusing. Maybe in the future, you could experiment with a tutorial that's less text and more example-based? Regardless, a very nice jam entry.

Great concept, though some bugs made for inconsistent game play, I found myself frustratingly not being able to grab the windows I needed despite them being clearly visible. I ended up losing because the kdneys just had viruses back to back, and never changed states back to healthy.
Love the art style, and chill vibes in a high stress game.

Yooo good game bro! Can you rate mine?

the concept is really cool and art is also awesome. You can check out our game as well which is kinda same

That is an nice mix of theme and limitation. You did so much for 7 days. Great job

fenomenal concept. loved the attention to detail on the organ animations. music was nice and chill. only problem i have is that when i earned money from the lungs, the sound effect had a weird stutter loop for around 2 seconds. other than that 5/5.

unique concept!

such unique design's , I like that !

Very unique concept. I liked the organ animations, and the variety of interactions was cool. I didn't care for having to rapid-click though, inputs like that are tough on old people like me. Nice art and colors, too.

This game respects the theme and the limitation very well! The mini games are fun and kept me busy. I did have somme difficulty understanding where I could click on a window to bring it in front of the others, other than that, it feels like the game was very well polished. I didn't finish a game since I'm between rating games and studying right now but I had fun! Also the music fitted the "workspace" ambiance

forever thankful to the interactive tutorial haha

You really nailed the corpo-cyberpunk-esque vibe, and the gameplay is quite deep with lots of variations. Having all the windows is such a small area makes the whole thing as stressful as it deserves to be.

Interesting use of the theme!

Having to micromanage between many different applications is quite a literal use of the limitation, but I like how you added a bit more to it by having it be for controlling organs, rather than the usual desktop stuffs.

I think that the best thing that this game does is the few windows that have interactions that work with the window itself, like having to shake the stomach window to do its action. Things like this work really well at making unique mechanics and ideas with a limitation and presentation like this.

Part of the game was to be able to organize the mess of windows, and have to shuffle them around to get to different things. But I found it a bit too difficult to move them how I wanted, since sometimes it felt like other windows were overlapping them, even though they were visually separated. This may be a hitbox size issue? I also found it a bit easy to eventually rearrange the view so that I had all important information on my screen, and didn't need to worry about moving everything.

I think that using more of the windows and usual OS interactions would be great to add to this game. Having to think about where you place things and such. (Like placing the heart monitor to the right is bad since then you cannot see the bar that shows up when you use it) Maybe have some features to close and open tabs, or change the size of the windows to effect what is inside of them. Giving the player more actions to do with the windows themselves I think is the best route to take for this game.

The only other thing that I would have improved is the tutorial, I did like how your tutorial was more than just text and involved actually doing the actions. But, when a game has many complicated features it can be hard to tell the player what to do. When a player is given a mountain of text and information it can be very overwhelming, and often times players will just say "I'll just figure it out." and ignore the tutorial, leading to very bad gameplay. Although I do think that this game is pretty easy to grasp compared to some of the other "wall of text" games I've played before, if you add more mechanics it will quickly become impossible to do things on the first pass.

Likely the best way to teach the player would be to introduce the windows as the game goes, only add things once they prove they know what they are doing. Think about how Papers Please doesn't throw all of its mechanics at the player on their first day, but adds them all up over time.

The visual style itself is very nice! I like the vaporwave aesthetics.

It seems like the brain had no limit to buying things? I could just continue to buy things from it and it would just go into the negatives. Maybe forgot to add a check for that? :)

Good job!

Thank you for the thoughtful response. Really appreciate the feedback :)

Clearly I need to get more playtesting in - I will fix this bug <3

Really great color palette and a fun interpretation of the theme. The screen did get a little cluttered and confusing to navigate, but it looks like maybe that was what you were going for, and I think it works for this kind of game. Had fun with this submission!

I loved this game! I would recommend!

I feel sad because I just read some of the comments and all of them say this game is cool. I don't think it works for my browser :(. I'm using Chrome. Sad. If you have time could you give feedback on my game?

Developer

That is very odd - it works in Chrome for me. Can you try again or let me know what problem you're running into. And yes of course :)

Submitted

Thanks! I'll try again!

I have no words honestly just absolutely amazing and creative work!! however idk if its just me but the heart one seems to be not working? (reading other reviews it does seem to be just me lol)

Developer

Thank you! What issue are you having?

Submitted

when solving the heart red flash (where you need to press the green button whenever the um slider is on the middle) it does not respond at all-also tried spam clicking- idk maybe I'm just slow

Developer

I can't replicate the issue :(  What OS are you on?

It has a brilliant style and concept. I loved it and the limitation is used perfectly. The only thing I would have liked is to be able to set it to full screen.

Developer(+1)

I have slightly increased screensize and created a fullscreen option.

Hopefully I didn't break anything!
