Neato game, Tom! I love the dialogue and tongue-in-cheek set up. Nice use of the limitation, too!

Fun and interesting simulation!

I like this game I not have a big score actually just 18k score I really enjoy to play

76k score I thought my soundcard will die somehow but I managed to keep the pace. I don't get how to regulate horses and trees? I supposed it was the dragon but not so sure after I spawn some and nothing seemed to change.

Nice cosy lil' game here. I like god games and life sims stuff.

It took me some times to understand that the smartphone can be moved tho'

Developer(+1)

Hi, thanks a lot!

Dragons eat horses and stomp on trees. The game may still be badly balanced tho, so it could explain why dragon feel underpowered.

Sound problems come from single-threading from what I understand. I did not manage to make it work with multithreads on itch :(

Lastly, I put the smartphone in the middle so people would understand it's movable. That said, other people also told me it's not obvious so that's totally an error from me haha

This was very cool. I liked the phone feature a lot but which the text was a bit smaller on the message app. I loved the art though and controlling the camera was fun. Very unique game!

Developer

Hi, thanks a lot!

You're right about the text. I had the very dumb idea to give myself the additional limitation to render the whole game at the pixelart's resolution (360*240 or so). That's what makes everything 2d and 3d fit together well, but the texts are also bound to that haha

Glad you enjoyed it nonetheless :D

great game , i enjoyed it

a neat idle game, wonder if it’s possible to find a nice equilibrium!

Submitted(+2)

update: eventually it got too laggy to want to place anything more and this was my final score392878

Developer

WOW How did you get to 6k animals haha

my tests in-engine went under 30fps at approx 1k animals, and it's even worse in html5

Thank you for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed the game at the point of pushing it to its limits :D

Oh, and it's probably not possible to find an equilibrium. At least I hope it ain't, otherwise there's no game hehe

oh i’m on an m2 macbook air but even still it was chugging along pretty slowly by that point, probably something around like 1 or 2 updates on the in-game cursor position per second. i wanted to see how far i could push it! coulda gone on a bit longer but by that point it was hard to navigate the phone

Really neat concept! I didn't realize that the animals were taking over the planet (or that they could) until the game ended. I think I little warning message if one side is getting overpopulated and some more tutorial elements would improve this game a lot. Nice music and art, though. I also liked the overall idea and had fun with this game once I kinda figured out how it worked.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Hi, thanks a lot!

I'll try to see what I can do about the warning, but that's a good idea!

edit: added !

Camera controls are a bit iffy for me - but the game itself is wonderful.

Really relaxing and chilled out with a unique art style, if the camera bug could be fixed I could see myself playing this game for hours :)

Hi, thanks a lot <3

Cam movement is (at least on my side, could be acting different between computers) a classic click-and-drag cam. It does act weirdly when fully zoomed in. Is that what you mean? If so, I'll try to make it behave when zoomed in, that's been bugging me for a while aswell haha

edit: Camera should be stable in normal use cases now! when doing reaaaally small movements, it still jitters but way less.

I think I know the cause but I wasn't able to fix it at the root (at least not without a lot of maths that I definitely won't do at 2AM).

Hey, I was really enjoying placing animals and planting flora, but after zooming in and out a couple of times my camera got stuck looking at the sky :(

Developer (1 edit)

Hi, sorry it happened, I thought I was done with this bug :(

It's probably a really rare occurence. I'll put an emergency camera reset in the settings just in case ^^

edit: found the problem and fixed it I think!

nice fun little game with an cool idle element to it, but the text is a bit hard to read at least on the webgl version and i had no idea my plants were taking over until the game told me i failed, maybe make that a bit clearer, maybe with like a tutorial? awesome game though, loved it!

Developer(+1)

Hi, thanks! Yep, you're right, I didn't want to break the diegetic interface and it  made things harder to read and to understand, I'll try to find a way to make things clearer!

The bars at the top of the phone are telling you what are your plants, animals and pollution levels. I heard they may behave unfairly sometimes because of the dubious game balance, I'll patch that aswell.

Have a nice day!

Good day, interesting game and concept, I really like the idle development/progress part of the game. I experienced a problem in the message area that said hover to read it worked once or twice but I could not read all the messages.

Developer

Hi, thanks!

Yeah, the messages are a bit finicky sometimes. Playtest people always managed to read them by moving the mouse to just the right place, so your problem is either a bug I didn't catch or you were really unlucky, either way, I'm sorry it happened, I couldn't find a way to make them less annoying ^^'

Have a nice day!
