How does your game fit the theme "Unconventional Means"?
The main character uses a rocket launcher to go through levels. It's not the most conventional weapon in platformers, from my knowledge.

Great art and music, it really worked well for this game! I found a few times where my player would clip into walls or still have velocity when I respawned but that's to be expected from game jams. Would have loved more midair control as when you shot yourself up it was hard sometimes to direct your landing, which I guess wouldn't be much of a problem if the levels were easier and not very focused on precise platforming. Really liked the idea though, well done!
Like this isn't too difficult until you get the rocket. you have a rocket force, but when the player moves midair instead of adding them you switch to the player movement only and that makes it very difficult and not fun to use. The other complaint is that the game is too bright, it actually hurts my eyes a bit, you should try to use a mario color pallet instead to get the same effect but nicer to look at.
You levels are well designed and the assets do look nice, it would be a really nice platformer if you fixed the above. I like the concept of rocket jumping, so if you execute it well this could be a great game.
If you want an example of good 2d rocket jumping, this is the perfect one: https://www.kongregate.com/games/bitwrit/rocketjump
This game is too difficult for a game jam! Rather be easier! That precision what needed is annoying. Even on the first level. But the game is well polished, and feels good to play. I wanted to check out all the levels, but I lost my patience. In the game jam version it could be all levels available. But nice job, I liked the music too! ^^
Really liked the art and music! Was fun too! Great job! :D
Pretty fun!
The rocket launcher mechanic is interesting, but it's too difficult to control yourself when you use it. It would be even more interesting if you could get the stars shooting on them.
good game well made, jump could have been W through would have made easier to play, and the knockback could have been better, you could send the player to the next level instead of the level selector but taking those small complaints away it is a good well rounded game.
Audio and pixel art are really good. The platforming is a little strange, especially the rocket launch, which seems to launch the player extremely far if they make any inputs while airborne. The difficulty of the levels is good, although I think any difficulty comes down to the controls and movement in general. Polishing the controls would make the movement feel a lot better to use. Overall, well done!
super fun, although a bit too difficult in my opinion. I loved the audio and the overall design though!
The game looks good. I think it's too hard. I have no idea how anyone can land the jump at the end of level 3.
The movement was good but it was only hard to controll in the air when you where using the rocket launcher. Other wise the levels are well designed, I liked the switches and the gates, art is also great and good music!
I enjoyed this game quite a bit! The art and sound style are really appealing, and the overall aesthetic of the game is great!
My main criticism for this game is in the controls. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of having the character jump if the space bar is held down. The reason I feel this way is because the character jumps higher when the space bar is held down, so often times I'll still be holding the space bar after a jump and when the character lands, they end up jumping again even though I did not intend to do that.
The other issue I had with the controls is that the rocket jumping, although a really AWESOME concept, was pretty hard to control. It's hard to describe, but it felt as though an additional force was being applied to the character after a rocket jump that made him move in unexpected ways. This made precision jumping sections extremely difficult.
I did end up completing the game, though I did not collect all the stars unfortunately :(. Aside from those issues with the controls, I think your entry was super good!
Sound and Graphics were amazing. Im mediocre at platformers and the precision needed to complete the levels was a little too much. Overall great work though!
This game is really difficult. I feel that there needs to be a grace frame before hitting something that kills you. but overall this is a really good game.

Overall a really well made game and definitely one that standouts from other games I’ve played thus far.
Love the art for this really drew me in and the game is really well-polished. It's a little hard for me and the first couple levels don't feel very "unconventional." Great job overall!
I really liked this game :)
