Good job Raptor, I really enjoyed this one but unfortunately I played the web build first which is broken alot of the time, but atleast I got to download it still and try it out without constant freezing/audio delays. I wasn't too keen on the angle snapping on the gun though, I felt like I couldn't be as accurate as I wanted to be but it got the job done.

Really hits the roots of a metroidvania game. I got stuck where I couldn't open a door and I had to backtrack all the way back to the starting area where the double jump was needed. Then on it got better with more mechanics being added. Music matched with the way the player jumped where the entire body rotated was pretty cool.
An issue I ran into was the aiming where it didn't have full 360 rotation but fixed angles on where the bullet should go. The charged shot having some particle effects when hit and adding a knockback effect with some invincibility frames might make the game feel better. The art style which felt unique but also felt like something was missing or the areas felt a bit gloomy.
Overall the game was really good. You have built a really good core with mechanics that work well.
When playing the game one can clearly see hard work put into it! Really great job!
If I would have to point something out it would be the art (both graphics and sound + music) it's not bad but it doesn't feel consistent. Trees, plants and so on seem to be completely 'from the other world' than e.g. the tileset. Similar thing about music and sound - they seem to be slightly different styles. Unifying them would make huge difference! The game would feel much more polished :)
Definitely the Metroidvaniest game I've played so far! I got lost after a few upgrades despite the map. But I have that issue with actual metroid titles so that's probably a me problem. Fun stuff, and the art style grew on me
Yay Godot! There seems to be a delay when I click "new game" that delays more with repeated clicks. Player movement has a good pace and I love the way the turret aims when the mouse is moved. Unfortunately it freezes shortly after I go through the door on the right.
The web version locked up on me when I opened the first door. Downloadable version worked for longer but also crashed on me at one point, so I didn't get to finish the game.
That being said, it's clear there was some thought put into how the world and levels were laid out and when I got a new ability, I had an idea of where I should go with it. The graphics were interesting, but it was very hard to make out what was interactable, what was an enemy, and what was just environmental art.
Overall not a bad entry, especially for your second time! Just need to pay a bit more attention to the graphics to help make things clearer.
was a fun game with lots of unlocks and stuff to find.
it was interesting how it gives you the controls for moving left/right after you moved to get the tutorial text lol
felt wall jumping was a bit tricky
music was good but wouldnt get to hear the full track because it restarts everytime you enter a room
nice art style aswell
fell off the side of the map into infinity in one room
also pressing f6 just crashes the game
The gameplay and controls felt good, very inspired by metroid and you captured that theme well with the mechanics and abilities you unlock.
The only criticism I have is that it was difficult to tell some of the enemies and platforms apart from the background, some refining of the art would really elevate the game.
Overall, good work!
Thanks for the note! Is this on the web build or an OS build?
The web build is generally ok but does seem prone to freezing at points; I highly recommend one of the OS builds if you can download and play one of them.
I just remembered also: the web build seems to freeze a lot when using Google Chrome. Firefox and Chromium based builds seem to do well, at least in Windows 10 anyway.
