thank you so much, i figured it out like 5 minutes before your reply. but thank you so much. i loved your game. pls make another mission, maybe a mission that you need to infeltrate a base in the jungle, with vietnam traps and trees that are actualy people. you need to get a map or a blueprint from the headquarters. and when you make your way out you get a horde of enemys behind you. maybe some new weapons for this mission would be cool. like a grenade launcher or a low pipe with poison darts. i would love to give more ideas. so hit me up.
I really like your game, it was really cool that you can do the same level but do it a different way multiple times, it really gave your game a lot of replay value. I do feel like the shotgun should have more spread at a distance because enemies were torching me with it at an inappropriate distance. Amazing job!
Oh wow, where to start...
Highly polished, well put together and fun to play.
Gives you the chance to approach problems in a variety of ways, going stealthy, going guns blazing or going on a totally different path.
Achievements, secret rooms and breakable windows, and breakable light and background physics objects?! I don't know where you found the time to put so much effort and polish into this, but I'm glad you did! Heck, two playthroughs and I still don't know what the passcode door is about!
Truly a gem, not only in the context of a metroidvania game, but in general.
That all being said, three minor gripes:
1. Jumping from ladders is tricky
2. Really wanted to have a laser sight on all weapons
3. Shotgun and Sniper have a huge delay on firing after switching to them
*spoiler*
The escape sequence had my heart pumping, and that's not the caffeine talking!
Wow! Thank you so much for your amazing feedback!
About the passcode door. There is something really special there! Small tip regarding the code - It is in same level and it is not hidden at all!
Regarding the points:
1. This is completely true. I will definitely need to remake it a little bit.
2. This is feedback that I got already few times. The only problem is, I feel it will make the game much easier. Maybe I will create an ability that reloads over time or something :)
3. Very valid point - imagine that I reduced it already before the game jam - the time was already cut in half!
I am really glad you liked the escape part! :)
good sound effects and theres a lot of graphics adding to the environment, felt pretty complete
liked that there were different styles you could try. shooting from the dark as fun
i think having a visible trail for the bullet couldve improved the shooting though
the interface looked really polished as well
the easiest way to play is to just exchange hits with enemies over and over (since there isnt really a consequence for death) which i dont think serves the game well
also it didnt delete the save files when i pressed new game
Thank you so much for your kind feedback! I really appreciate it.
In terms of visible trail (path prediction) for bullet - there are currently 5 weapons in the game - 2 of them have non-deterministic path (the ray angle has one of 7 values), there is one weapon that has a ray - sniper rifle. Also laser kinds of give you very specific feedback on how the path looks like as you can see the beam.
In case I misundersstood your point and you ment just the graphical trail after shot - I was actually trying to implement it but I failed :D. I just couldn't make it look "natural"? I experimented with line, particles and so on and just couldn't make it "work".
In terms of difficulty - it really depends on which achievements you want to focus. My previous game received feedback of being too difficult and I thought it may actually be good idea to make the death "non-punishing". Of course if somebody wants just to rush through the game - as you say just pushing forward, making direct fire exchnage - he/she can do it but there is no way that somebody will receive "careful" or "pieceful" achievement in the game doing that. I tried to make the achievements very varried encouraging different types of playstyles :).
Regarding the save files - thanks for spotting it out! Have you played the online version or did you download windows version? :)
Wonderful submission! This is in my top faves of this jam! Once I started conserving ammo the game got a lot easier. Especially for a one month jam game, I think that this one is near perfect. The controls are great, pacing is good, stealth mechanic works great (a little too well sometimes!), good enemy variety and AI, nice puzzles, good weapons, etc.
Did you really make all of this art and do the game design and coding all in a month?? Kudos! This feels like a complete indie game demo, ready to go and raise funds and/or gather a team! Very pleasant experience all around!
This game is very well done. Graphics are nice, gameplay feels smooth and polished, SFX and music are consistent, balanced and fit the game well. I thought the stealth mechanic was a neat touch, feels a bit like a 2D MGS game.
Keep up the great work!
What a well polished game! Looks great, sounds great, and plays great. Nicely done!
Congratulations to all the team! What a quality, everything is there, the very clean DA, a good feeling on the sounds, efficient feedbacks, an increasing difficulty, loot mechanics that complete the gameplay and that invite to explore. Congratulations again!
Ah.... I found a bug. I can't go anymore. BTW, this game is good. There are many secrets that I haven't been able to find.
