Wow the art design on this game is really good. Great work. The music and sound is pleasant too. I found the combat too hostile to make it very far though. Since you're already aware of the combat issues, I'll comment on a couple other things that I think might help improve the game:

1. I think the game deserves a better intro/tutorial section. Don't introduce all the controls at once in a big scroll, and give the player some easy enemies to fight.

2. The first time I played I thought there was a bug that made it unplayable because I couldn't figure out how to get out of messages. As someone else mentioned, escape is inconvenient and unorthodox for browser play.

Thanks for playing, and thank you for the feedback. I'm sorry for any inconvenience you found in the game. I will surely try to make a more balanced enemy and a more helpful tutorial next time.

The art and presentation were really good, but the overall design of enemies and combat needs to be reworked. The slash of the player makes it really easy to take damage just by touching the enemy, since its range is small and you can only slash in the direction your facing. Great idea, just needs some combat changes.

Developer

Thanks for playing, and thank you for the feedback.

The enemy's behavior indeed needs to be reworked. The player attack is also too short, however if you can obtain both of the combat skill notes, even slashing the enemy projectile is quite easy.

The Game Mechanics are really good. just that the slime projectile attack is soo fast not enough time to dodge & it really gets unbeatable if there are more than 2 slime near you

They should have some kind of knock back from sword to hit them without hurting our self

Had fun playing! Best of luck

The game looked and played really nicely. I had similar issues as others with esc and right clicking but I still enjoyed the game.  Hitting things feels very satisfying and I thought the speed of gameplay was perfect. I liked that you included so many destructible objects in addition to the enemies. That's something I wanted to explore in my own submission but we didn't get the chance!
Nice work!

Managed to throw knives in all directions in Chrome, in Firefox it simply didn't work with right mouse button.

I like concept very much. It's fun to play and looks great.

Things that went wrong for me:
* I stuck in some location with the character invisible and not reacting on buttons

* Inputs are inconvenient for browser play: Esc and right mouse click have special meaning in browser - exit from full screen and open popup menu. Thus I could use throwing knives only horizontally. For inventory "I" button would be great. Closing the shop can be the same F button used to open it.

* I'd wish to see how much crystals and slime gel I collected right in the UI without need to open inventory

* Gameplay becomes repetitive after five or so times returning to the base to sell things and make upgrades. It would feel much better if traders were scattered along the map.

In general, well done, great work!

Developer

Thanks for listing all the problems you have found. I will make sure to double-check all the maps and be more careful when creating the inputs next time, to prevent such inconvenience later. I will keep all your feedback in mind and try to make a better game next time.

And thanks for playing, seem like you play quite a while there.

What I liked

  • Your external assets meshed well together
  • I felt like the feedback that you give to the player is almost perfectly balanced.
  • I loved the UIs for the stores.
  • The destructible objects felt and looked really polished

I usually follow this up with some detailed feedback, but the only thing I felt this game really lacked was a map. I like to be able to tell where I am and where I've been, especially when the environment is the same. I don't mind backtracking, but I'd like to know where I'm trying to backtrack to.

Congrats on submitting a polished looking and neat game!

Thanks for playing, and thanks for writing down your opinion. A map is indeed a great idea. I will try to figure out how to make one.
