This is very cute and surprisingly calming! The 2.5d side-scroller style looks great, and I love the various characters and animations. There are a number of ways you can improve on the game, though. As others have mentioned, some UX and health indicators would be very helpful. The player control and attack moveset could also be tightened up a bit. Jumps are a bit too floaty, and the short range of the melee attack makes it vastly inferior to the ranged attack. The level design could also use more intentionality. I often try to ask myself what I am communicating to the player with each obstacle, jump, and enemy I place in my games. Like 'this enemy will teach the benefit of melee over ranged attacks' or 'this gap will teach how to use a long press jump over a short hop'. I think if you focus on these growing these areas, it would make the game a lot more compelling for the player. But this is a great start, good work!

Nice one ! I like the vibes.

Missing some UI or indicator for health.

I think the shooting animation is a bit long and slow the gamefeel.

Cutscene are really cool ! The voice *Meow meow* is so funny !

Congrats !

Pretty nicely executed game, though let me politely do some nitpicking:

 - the game really needs ui or other way of signaling health. Even flashing red or smth.

 - small tutorial would also be nice (though description is fine too, though people tend to skip it). You could just put another animal that tell controls at the beginning.

 - I don't see a reason why fight doesn't start immediately after first warning. There's no real need for this double warning, especially when player die and has to restart and go through it again.

 - Very short ranged melee attack makes this unnecessary difficult. Don't know if that was the point, though you are probably aware of it.

 - The boss fights are really cool. Too bad first one is just really soon before even letting the player familiarize the controls!

 - the graphics are nice, but please tone that wild grass a bit;) it gets 3x the length on full wave ;)

I honestly don't know what the point of fish game here was, but i loled;P

Pretty cute. The atmosphere works well.

The game could use some UI (especially to show how much health the player has). I think the player's attack range could be slightly longer as well.

Interesting project, and good luck with a super edition if you go that route.

Pretty fun little game! I liked the artstyle, I haven't seen a lot of 2.5d in this jam so that was cool to see. Platforming felt pretty nice, but the melee attack has pathetic range and felt like I would always get hit if I tried to use it. There also doesn't seem to be any upgrades? The description says the ranged attack needs to be unlocked but I had it from the start. Also, the game really needs some UI, right now there is no way to see how much health you have. I did also take a point off sensory since the art, while very cute, seems to largely be from asset packs and not made during the jam... regardless, this was fun and a pretty decent entry!

Nice work! I really enjoyed the 2.5 environment you created! It felt very lush and alive. The voices for the characters also got a real LOL out of me. "Meow, meow ...Myow"

Great work! Very fun entry!

Amazing! It has that open world vibe while simultaneously guiding you on a set path. Very relaxing music and great character animations.
