Nice entry! I like the simplistic look with using shapes instead of character/monsters. Having a shoot mechanic using the mouse for aiming is a nice touch. My only complaint really is the lack of music and sfx. I did have issues with the game coming to crawl when changing scenes and had to restart but could be a browser issue. Great job!
Thanks for the lengthy feedback! Currently working on the audio as it didn't make it into the game in time. Stay tuned for a post voting update. Sad to hear about the scene transitions. They definitely work better locally, but it is a browser game, so I'll have to look for a solution. Perhaps load all the levels on first load instead.
btw there will be a post voting update that will include sfx and music.
Controls are neat, I just feel like it takes to many shots to kill the small enemies. I like the visuals (as you could tell if you look at my game), shapes always do it for me ^^
Nice entry, well done!
Thank you for the feedback. I'll be releasing an update to the game once the voting ends and I'll adjust the small enemies accordingly.
Pretty tight controls^^ Well done.
Thank you!
That was a delightfully simple yet genuinely enjoyable experience. The visuals and harmonious color blends perfectly complemented the game's theme. I did encounter an issue with a trigger loop when transitioning to another level, causing a crash. Despite that hiccup, fantastic work overall!
Thank you so much! Much appreciated! Sorry about the bug QQ
Hello, I tried your game, here's the video with a time stamp at 02:11:
Ooooh! Thanks for the gameplay recording! Hope you enjoyed it!
Fun little game! I agree that the player trail is great, and I like the lighting and overall aesthetic. Would be nice to have some sound though!
For the controls, I think the speed and jump height of the player were well-tuned relative to the environment and enemies. One issue I had was I thought the camera was a bit too high, and would also follow the player up when jumping, so I would often be falling blindly and then hit spikes or an enemy that I couldn't see below me.
The shooting was satisfying. I kind of like the spam-click style, but I could see people wanting some auto fire when holding the button down. It was a little awkward that the projectile firing point was so far from the center of the character, so if you shot straight down when standing on one of the moving platforms, you would miss the platform. You could still hit it by standing on one side and shooting the other side though.
Not having checkpoints or healing was a little frustrating, but when you respawn you keep your crystals and they also respawn, so I was able to get to the end comfortably still. Overall well done!
Thanks for all the great feedback! Unfortunately, the checkpoints never made it in, along with a million other things :D
Yep, I feel that!
I dig it! The trail behind the player is so simple, but so satisfying and makes everything feel so much more alive.
I really like the idea of the platforms that you have to shoot to get them to move, but I couldn't quite seem to get a good rhythm with them. Most of the time I would shoot them just to watch them leave from under me and drop me onto spikes, haha. Maybe I'm just not good enough (definitely a possibility).
In all, this is a nice little demo level! Looking forward to seeing where you take it!
Glad you dig the trail as I find them pretty fun too! The moving platforms were a great idea by Juchu. Will keep your feedback in mind, appreciate it!Thank you!
