I love the art and level design! Super good for a weekend jam, feels very polished and I like the story line/how the objective shifts each level. Super good job! Also the lil guy is super cute.

Developer

Thank you ,

I originally planned for 7 levels but decided to go with 5 and add some polish to the game

Massive submission within 48 hours! Took me a while to figure it out, but I managed to finish the game. Cool switches between the map every night, had me confused for a moment hahah

Developer

Thank u

I found the font a bit difficult to read, but the movement was really fun. I would love to know how you did like the weird camera effect you had, because that was really cool

Developer(+1)

Thx ,

I made it difficult to read intentionally as it was written by a serial killer.it think I did a bit too much btw I used cinemachine( an asset pack ) in unity and a bit of code to achieve that camera effect

Nice!

Is it okay with you if I ask a few more questions about it? There's some stuff here (specifically like the movement's fluidity, and the way in which the character was animated and kind of leaned in different directions when you moved and stuff, though namely the things I want to ask about are really just "how did you do this or that") that I'd love to hear a bit more about, as those are things I tend to struggle with making when it comes to programming (assuming it was all done programmatically)

Developer (1 edit)

Yup sure I would love to do that, most of it was done by a single script (400 approx lines) and for the animations I tilted the character on the dir he was moving

The movement was acceleration based and was highly inspired by what a youtuber named "taro dev" you can check his video you and I also used custom gravity

If u want to know more about how I did it

Can msg me in comments or "_mr_Spirit_"

This is my discord handle

Wht's urs ?

:D

You could copy taro dev's controller

But I choose to get inspired by him and make my own

As it didn't support custom forces and I needed to add the jump pad to the game

That's awesome, thank you so much for explaining. I think I understand a bit more than I previously did now, and I probably won't DM you, but if I do, my discord handle is the same as my handle here

Developer

That nice :)

Very cool game! Love the take on the theme!  Cool postproc effects too~
(I found the controls a little slippery at times, especially when trying to jump the picture frames - but that kind of added to the feeling of being endlessly trapped) :D
Love the maniacal laughter, especially when you miss a jump and have to double back. xD

Developer

Thx , I am glad you liked it :)

Love the atmosphere, story and art. I wasn't expecting anyone to make a game with horror elements :) While it was very well made I dont know if there is an ending or not or exactly how is corresponds to the theme+prereq?

Developer

as per the theme the dimensions of the house change every night and the repeating night cycle is based on the  prereq btw  the game ends when you escape the house on fifth night

I played it again and somehow I completely missed the fact that I had to go back and that I could make it back to the bed on the first night lol. That was really awesome! And a very creative use of the theme and prereq. Really good design and nuts that you were able to make that in the time frame :)

Developer

Thx ,

I first time by mistake deleted the first two maps and had to re make them

I stayed up all night for this game
