Really cute little game, I liked that you unlocked abilities and were able to traverse areas you couldn't before.

Excellent artwork, sound, and level design! Everything is perfect. I hope your team could continue developing this game after the jam:)

Thought the pink flowers were checkpoints until I died the first time. Nice game.

I loved this game. The music and the art are amazing. Several things about this touched me personally. One of the emotions that stood out the most in me was melancholy, not only because you are alone in a cave, in the dark, without any npc, and even the enemies act as if you weren't there, but also because of the colors chosen, with such a dark tone, as if you were really lost, alone, at the bottom of a cave, but not in a scary way, but in the comfort of wanting to know where all of this will end, just doing your thing with the powers you have gained along the way, and with the music complementing those feelings with an extra tone of space and galaxies. An incredible way of expressing a metaphor of what is life. reminded me a lot of many of the emotions you feel playing Hollow Knight. Very glad that you guys did this in a very short period of time. This has the pontential to be a full game and be released on steam. Great Work.

The idea that you need to backtrack to make progress is something I haven't really seen much of and this game pulls it off very well.

Hope I am not spoilering anything when posting my result here. Proud that I've made it - even though I didn't do so well.

But I know WHO did exceptionally well here - YOU did! My highest marks for your game. I love every (8)bit and piece of it - and on top of that, you incorporated the topic of the Jam perfectly. Very well done - great job!

Couldn't launch the game for me, even in full screen, even changing my keyboard to querty it doesn't work.

Developer

I'm really sorry to hear that! It isn't a sure fix, but have you tried to downloading and running the files? If that doesn't work, you could always try to play it on your cell phone and play it that way.

THIS is where I get stuck (no matter what lol)

Yeah, a lot of people managed to get stuck there, sorry. I'll be making a fix next time I get to work on the game. I'm glad you enjoyed it otherwise though!

great work! music, visuals etc and game mechanics!

just one thing: riding the walls it's kinda weird when he jumps too far of the edge and you need to go back to the same spot... it could be a little smoother this jump-off.

I got a liitle confused and annoyed in one particular area where it jumped off the edge-climbing-flowers/grass and the screen kept changing up and down, because it was in between two partitions lol

also I discovered a cheat-bug: accidentally (when going down with the camera) I got stuck in one of the growing path-thingies (yes, on the little pixel just aside this growing thing) and it was too way down to go back up and the water just aside, down bellow (so I couldn't go back to a safe place and my game was completely over, because I couldn't jump and grow mid-air the thingies).

very cool concept i like this very much

What a fantastic Pico8 game, honestly! So many different screens, very good pixelart, and a great sense of progression. Love the scrolling screen to transition between sections.

I found it strange that I couldn't backtrack, but it made sense on the end-screen where you get your final time and collected items. Maybe putting that in the description of the game would clarify it being part of the challenge and not let you wonder why?

I'd say the way you can grow and un-grown certain plants is not only satisfying, but counts for the limitation!

Awesome work, love it!

Man, these Pico games are visually addictive. Great!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed the art, I was really trying to go for a retro style, so I'm glad that paid off!

Interesting concept!

I had fun playing it, the visuals and music are great!

The only thing I could say I don't liked is... Maybe avoiding the enemies, because most of them were in tini spaces, so its a bit unconfortable avoiding them.

But overall, I loved it :)
