o-o  this is by far the best platformer game i've played in this jam! very clever implementation of the limitation!

Fun gameplay, cool concept, and beautiful to look at!  This would be super impressive even if it weren't your first game jam game, but the fact that it is just makes it that much more so!  Since I see from your other comments that you appreciate constructive feedback, one minor suggestion that I don't see in the other comments is to include a bit of a tutorial to introduce the controls/instructions to the player bit by bit.  (The instructions screen gives you quite a bit of information all at once, and I found myself repeatedly pausing the game to check it at first.)  Great job!  :)

I really liked the concept of this one. A few things that came to mind as I was playing:

I often mixed up which abilities belonged to which color. Especially yellow and green which both use the trajectory line. I think some shape indication would make it easier to tell them apart.

When I was blue I expected it to hug the wall automatically when you move off the edge, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I didn't really notice the different colors hurting me.  A more obvious reaction in the graphics would help.

That is all actually really helpful; haven't heard these yet. That is super helpful!

I was kind of struggling in finding ways to properly telegraph everything, and I think the scope got just barely too big to implement all the core functions I really wanted in there.

The feedback is super appreciated!

Nice game! I liked a lot the mechanics and the music!

I liked the concept and the gameplay was interesting. There is a small bug on the corners of the blocks, and sometimes the color changed abruptly, but other than that I enjoyed it a lot. Good job!

I like the logo and the player character sprites, they have a lot of personality. The core idea is serviceable, but the controls felt still and the collision wasn’t always to my liking. Overall, rough around the edges but there is something underneath that is compelling. I think with better gamefeel and more time put into polishing level designs, this could have potential. Nice work for a short jam!

Thank you so much! The greatest hope was to have something rough around the edges for a first jam, and your input is super helpful. Constructive criticism is insanely helpful.

This game was fun, it really made me watch which abilities I used and when so that I can avoid being hurt by the trails. I wish it had a web version though to prevent the need to download it. Lots of fun though and great work!

Thank you so much!  :)

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I couldn't move while jumping so I couldn't pass the first spikes, too bad because the game is really pretty. 😔

Developer

That's super odd, I haven't heard of that yet... Are you inputting the jump first or the movement first?

Thank you so much for your input!

The game is cool but PLEASE CHANGE THIS BG x_x I'll be blind.

Keep doing games, but be careful about this detail.

I'm so sorry! There was a lighting bug that I could not get working, I swear it kept getting brighter every time I compiled it.

I really hope to fix this in the future!

Developer

Fixed it :>

Wow, what a cool and beautiful looking game! Well done! The level design and concept are both great! My only suggestion would be to change the font style - It's quite hard to read!

I would appreciate it if you could check my game out too! 😄
