I really like the look and feel of the game! Would like to be able to move a little bit faster but was still fun!

great game . Cool atmosphere. The sound effect's are also really good . The bug could be a little faster.

I liked the controls and soundeffects

Thanks for playing Rangeon :)

Interesting concept! Other than the feedback you have gotten on how to add more depth to the game, I would make the fist target sprite a little bigger and more telegraphed. It was sometimes hard to tell where it would land and the time you get to react felt too short.

Some bugs that I found:

* The hazard would sometimes get stuck on the floor and never leave and no other hazards would spawn again.

* I managed to eat a bug right about the same time my "health" ran out. I regained health but the game still ended.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the atmosphere you created with your graphics and sound effects. Nice job!

Thanks that’s some great advice - I can def signal the fist for longer easily.

i am trying to fix where the fist get jams but I am not good at the bug checking. Still may stumble soon it.

your feedback with the health bar has reminded me of Coyote time so I will extend the bar to -5 (not visibly) and give the player a chance for a reprieve 😀

I noticed we can update at any time during  the voting period so will try and iron out some of these ASAP.

sound was gorgeously squishy. Atmosphere is top notch, I think an attack animation would be good like a charge or a pinch would make it funnier, it feels like a damage animation so it took a while to know if I was winning or losing. Good job very spooky

Great artstyle, but I couldnt understand what is the objective of the game

Developer(+1)

it was survival but a bit slower and less engaging then I planned.

Thanks for giving my game a go 😀

Art looks gorgeous.
The gameplay feels somewhat bland for me, I would have liked some more depth.

Developer

Any suggestions would be welcome - I totally agree and would love to make it more engaging.

thanks for trying it out 😀

Maybe some bug variety
- Smaller ones that are faster, but are eaten in one hit
- Bigger ones that are slower and take 3 hits?
Change the spawn point around?
Give the player an active ability that allows tighter turns/more speed?

This comes to mind, What are your thoughts about it?

Developer

Very helpful I am going to try and implement some of the recommendations post the voting.

thanks for taking the time 😀

Developer

I have updated it with a dash if I can tempt you back lol.

Sounds good, will try it out during the day!

Update: I got to it.

Great work on the dash. It feels good and can be used as a attacking tool/closing distance tool or could be used to avoid getting smashed to a pulp by the fist.

cool atmosphere, game could benefit from having the player follow your mouse rather than controlling it with the arrow keys

Very creepy and atmospheric, definitely a unique idea.

Can't rate as I haven't submitted an entry, but I enjoyed this game.

My feedback is as follows:

1. Turn circle is too slow, bug movement speed is fine, but the arc of turning needs to be reduced.

2. Smaller bugs should take fewer hits, with the smallest being one hit, and larger bugs should take more.

3. Implement a dash function to dash forward. This could be tied to the health system. Currently the fist that drops down doesn't hurt you, and I can understand why this is the case, but if you had the ability to dash then avoiding the fist could be part of the challenge.

4. Your own bug should grow as you eat more bugs. Added size slows movement.

Very cool game, I just lost my bug out of the window, but its the only bug I found, great experience !
