  • This felt incredible to play. I was definitely not skilled enough to get past the turrets, but I tried over and over. Everything came together in such an incredible, fast-paced experience. The connection with the theme is a little tenuous, but I'm assuming that's why those connecting switches exist. Good job sticking to that. The game feels like some runners I've seen before, and it nails the experience of going fast and loose. I also liked the proximity tutorials that told you what to do when you went close to them. It plays very well with the exception of the connecting pieces that can be a little imprecise. But I saw from your comments that it was tricky to code. Additionally, the climb sideways mechanic wasn't intuitive, even with the tooltip for me. I kept trying to wall run or do a two-side wall jump. I liked how simple the art style was and despite being all-blue, it managed to not hurt my eyes to play. In addition, the visual effects of the geometric patterns and the blue lines you have really leaned hard into the 'going fast' feeling without making me feel dizzy. Very good visual choices. The music also hit just right -fast paced, and added to the feel. Overall, if I was even a little more competitive, I'd be playing this game over and over. A fun experience, and something to be proud of for the jam. This feels like it could be one of those endless runners to some good music, or a very fun Portal-like experience of getting through increasingly difficult levels. I hope you keep making stuff like this in the future, and that you learned a lot from this jam.

Honestly really amazing game, I got a 1:46. And to be honest I would have kept playing but I find the red jars you have to place on things to be extremely annoying in how they work. They sometimes get placed a little further than where you are aiming, they roll around on the ground which makes them unpredictable, they fall out of your hand if you turn too fast (or is it when they hit a wall and you are turning), and you have to be perfectly looking at the yellow light to place them, if you are a pixel off they place and just fall off.

After 15 attempts I got pretty annoyed of them and decided to move on.

Aside from that, great movement, great music, great sound effects (I like the wall sliding sound).
I did lose a lot of frames when the turrets shot or when I was near the electric grids, which messes up my aim, but that might just be a WebGL thing.

Nice job putting this all together in a week! Check out our game DotFight if you get a chance!

Thanks for all the feedback! I can confirm that the plugs are tedious to use, and they were a pain to code. I probably would have made them better if I had more time.

I suggest using raycasts to determine how to place these things. If it hits the ground, just place it correctly on the ground and disable any physics to ensure predictable placement. If the raycast hits a plug at a close enough distance, place it there too. Maybe just make the plug hit box a bit bigger

The best game on this jam, it's a shame it's dark and you can't always see everything

Awesome movement!

I like the feeling of the game. It's very nervous! I feel that the controls can be a bit more polished but the work achieved in only one week is very impressing!

congrats!

Thanks! I appreciate it.

Wow really cool! It's so impressive you did this in just one week. The atmosphere is really suggestive, and the gameplay feels smooth. Well done!

Thank you for your feedback! :D

Love the wall jumping and the extra detail of adding sparks when sliding against the wall.

The movement feels great!

that. was. AWESOME!! the vibes, the movement, the controls, the levels, the diegetic and funny comments, them music - everything is sooo good! the turrets were a bit tricky, and the hitbox for electric fences i feel like is too big, but apart from these nitpicks - i love this game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! The hitbox for the fences is actually pretty thin, but the way the player movement works probably made it feel like it's bigger (the camera stays behind for a small distance, so you might run into the fence before it seems like it)

Well done Lizardlike!

Really fun and great graphics! I’m not sure if it’s a bug or not, but the focal point is constantly moving down and to the right when I’m playing in the browser (on Firefox). Might be worth looking into to see if that’s an input bug.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Could you explain exactly how it occurs? I can't seem to replicate it.
