Fun little game with some nice visuals and animation. It really reminded me of classic side scrolling adventure games like Flashback, which I loved growing up. The temperature mechanic with the furnaces worked well and was a good spin on the theme too. Great work!
Really enjoyed it. The MC model and how it moves in particular is very well done. So much with so llitle. Congrats!
I had a really fun time, but I think I encountered a bug or I’m just really bad…
Overall it was an awesome entry. Good job!
Thanks for playing, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Though, could you tell me more about the bug you encountered?
I believe it was after I got the 3rd key card - I made my way to the top left portion of the map.
There was one box in the room on the floor that I pushed all the way to the left against a small wall that looked like it had another (2nd) box on top of it.
I then jumped on box 1, and attempted to push box 2 to the left - off of the wall that it was sitting on.
As soon as I held the “up” button to start pushing, box 2 phased through the floor quickly - dissappearing. Afterwards, I tried respawning, but box 2 did not respawn.
I'm guessing the first box (the one you were standing on) wasn't pushed quite all the way? Even if it was, I think I know exactly what's happening: the box uses only one raycast to decide whether to start falling, and it must've gone over a small gap between the platform and the other box. I was just able to reproduce it myself. Should be a simple fix, but I'll have to wait until after the jam is over.
Anyway, thanks a lot for telling me about this!
Cool game, nice environment. I really liked the art and the idea. The music was also good and the options menu was a nice touch. But I find the fact that some jumps (the fourth room from the center row and before the last room in the center row) are practically impossible if not heated fully.
Very interesting game! Good job!
That was a really cool game! I got the bear and finished it in 10m 22seconds.
Damn, this was really nice! Very well done. The art style is pretty good for this jam. You managed to add details for the scene that I wouldn't think possible. Also, the gameplay is quite challenging. I died one time because I didn't realize that I couldn't jump very high with the meter below halfway, so I kept trying :P
I got about 8m30s to get the bear and escape. Now I need to play it on the hard mode later.
Oh, that is a good point! I tried to imply how the cold would affect your jump height by saying it would make you "heavy", but I guess that wasn't quite enough. There's so little space for those tutorial prompts, too.
Glad you enjoyed it, though!
Forget about the rules, it was a great game haha I loved it. It's a challenge as well but its super intuitive.
I really like how you acomplished a very clear gameplay with a minimalist pixel art style!
Thanks alot for your efforts, I finished the game and had fun doing so.
There are alot of character animations, for many situations which was cool. The feeling of reaching a furnace right befor you freeze is awesome. Generaly the games feel as a whole Nice story too. I got a time of like 5:40 or so :)
The Game looks good, and the sound design is fitting. But the colors are wrong :(
Also I couldn't play very far, please scale the game down, otherwise you have to have a great distace from the screen to really see anything. I am looking forward to playing this game with a smaller scale, also the snow look awesome. :)
Hi, thanks for playing my game!
Could you explain what you mean by the colors being "wrong"?Oh wait, I'm dumb. I just read the FAQ and learned I've been breaking the rules all this time. Whoops! Also, I can scale the game down a tad. What size is your monitor?
Alright, I've updated it. It should be a lot smaller now, and the colors aren't incorrect anymore. Thanks for alerting me – I totally didn't realize I was breaking the rules there!
