Fun, but I couldn't figure out how to gain height, so I played the original and that was really fun!

Developer

You have to press down while going down, then when you bounce of you stop holding down, and so on, you wont lose height if you dont do anything, so once you've reached the height you want just try  to balance on the platform, thanks for playing :)

First of all, the fact that you decided to demake your own game is admirable, but the fact that this is also a remake makes this a really special experience and shows your growth as a dev.

The added verticality and downward momentum mechanic makes the game more engaging than it's original. Having proper difficulty curve act as a tutorial of sorts because players won't have to worry about the moving trampoline.

The presentation is also improved. The even thinner ball emphasize the downward velocity. The new design of the blocks helps conserve screen real estate. The shaking effect of the blocks is back and I loved how the blocks eventually overlap with each other.

One negative I found is that the high score system is pointless. Players can "die" to reset their height and they shouldn't be punished for using this useful interaction. This didn't affect my enjoyment, I just ignored the high score entirely.

I sincerely hope you will have a bright future moving forward, 10/10.

Thank you so much for all the feedback, I im happy that you enjoyed the game and tried both, thanks for the kind words as well :)

Good game.  I like the innovation but I think the pacing could be better.  It's very frenetic and there's no room for a breather.  I think if the blocks were shapes or colors (if not for the limited pallette), it'd also help.  I'm not sure what all the numbers mean - maybe like the potential score but the player has to get rid of all of them anyway.  I like the indicator that appears when the player is above the screen and the squishing of the player when the down key is pressed.  Smart stuff.

well, I do have a original version of the game this is just a demake from my already existing game, also the numbers represent how much health the block has, check out the other one, it has blocks and colors. Thanks for playing :)

Cool.  I got to the 115 blocks until I felt like that was enough.  Game loop is addicting.  I could see a full game where the player is facing hordes of enemies with this attack mechanic with a cool story to break things up.

Thanks to all playing :)

Also you can press c to toggle the view from highscore to current score.

My current best:

Unique! Simple premise, very addictive once you get the hang of it!

Incredibly addictive! I could see people getting hooked to this game for days on end, trying to beat their own high score again and again. You've done a lot with very little, and details like the number shake and particles, the stretch and squash of the ball, and the leaning of the platform make it very satisfying to play. I think that's essential to making a simple game focused entirely on a single game loop like this enjoyable for a long time. It did take me a while to figure out how momentum's built, but besides that it's a fun mechanic.

Thanks for the expansiv feedback, Im happy that you could enjoy the game so much, Im thinking to make a nokia port somehow, since the game is made in only  about 820 bytes, lets see :)

Getting the ball to bounce was reallyyy tough. I couldn’t get it working consistently, but was likely just a skill issue on my part. Cool animations.

Had a bit of trouble getting the momentum at first but once I got the hang of it it's a pretty fun game. Could see myself playing it on my phone.

Very fun game and cute. I agree with some comments that the momentun it was a little bit hard, but perhaps im just bad at it haha congratulations, good game! rated

It's fun and juicy. I was happy to see that I don't have to start from the beginning when losing. It was pretty difficult though, especially the pressing 'down' for momentum (sometimes you'd get kind of stuck, from which you could hardly get out without dying).

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, I have been thinking to make a minimum height that you can be at. To prevent  situations like those. But im unsure, because I think that this is part of the difficulty, and its a thing that you can master, after that You'r kinda always off-screen. Regardless, I noticed that you aren't the only one saying that, i'll thing about it. Hope You enjoyd playing :)

Really fun game ! The feel is incredible and the controls are intuitive ! There's so much game juice in it that I could drink it. And it's a game I could waste a lot of time on ! GG

Cool game! Really clear and satisfying, when you get the timing right! Feels a bit like having to juggle :D
I was terrible at timing the down-pressed, but it was great once I got the hang of it!

I like this game man! a new pong concept, i would only add a fixed minumum jump height and a key to start instead of continuing the gameplay after win a level.. btw i like it!

Developer(+1)

Ey, man thanks for playing and for the feedback :)

I will make it so that you have to press x to continue I kinda never thought about it, thanks for the idea.

Also if you Die you get lauched to a certain height, so you can gain momentum from there, and if you get too close to the platform and cant recover up, then You basically lose, its part of the difficulty scaling of the game.

Did you try the original?

no man, i'm gonna try it! i submitted a game too, try it if you have time!

I just did
