Ace gameplay! Love the use of the theme tied into game mechanics and quite an addictive gameplay loop! Love that first planet jump moment :D Could do with some UI additions to smooth out the onboarding experience but a minor gripe for a great game!
This is my new number one (I've been playing the games in alphabetical order), as its quality is comparable to that of a really good 2010s Flash game (you know, those old web games that used something called Flash Player) and feels like one too! It could've ranked amongst popular titles like the Achievement Unlocked Fancy Pants and Henry Stickmin series. I will say, though. the character looks like it's from Homestuck, if you know what that is.
I only have three minor gripes:
It takes a long time to regain control of the ball sometimes because you have to wait for it to come to a complete halt first. I feel an option to work around this would be best added as an option to make the game more accessible to newcomers, like the young kids who may have played this game already.
The ball got stuck, albeit only twice or so before I decided to give up after, like, the sixth hole at a particularly hard section with a bunch of small moons, and I even got to see the symbol that appears beside the ball askew.
The exit button hardlocks the game. In the web version, if possible it should instead go to the previous page or if unavailable close the tab, basically to fix an edge case.
So cute and really awesome job getting the traversal onto different planets to work, feels so cool! The lighting casting in front of the player character is also a really nice touch.
Incredible idea, I audibly gasped when jumping to a new planet for the first time! Really appreciate the thumbnail art as well.
I also found I was hitting R a lot when missing rather than waiting for the ball to settle, so might be worth considering having it stop sooner after making your shot.
Would be really looking forward to seeing a more developed version!
Omg thank you, I'm so happy the planet jump got that reaction, it's what I was hoping for! (And I love the thumbnail art too, proud of my sis!)
And yeah the ball doesn't like to sit still, idk for sure why, I'm still learning Godot's physics and its a lil funky. Will definitely adjust if I develop further. ^_^
AAAAaa this is so cute! I love lil alien, their animations have so much character! Do they have a name? The art is great especially the title menu which is the best thumbnail in the jam imo, I love the UFO 🥰 The gravity was really fun and I loved jumping to other planets.
I felt a little impatient playing while I was waiting for the ball to stop, sometimes I would just press R to speed things up if I missed a shot.
Well done on your first game jam! Hope you had fun :)
Thank you so much! I love doing animations, I had to hold back giving them more fun ones. As for a name, I couldn't decide on one! U.Fo is current favourite but if you have any ideas!
My sister will love hearing your comments about the thumbnail, she's so talented and a great help!
Yeah the ball does need to stop faster, and stop rolling back as much. And I debated making resetting cost a hit as it kinda does in real golf but I couldn't iron out the bugs to make it less frustrating without using the reset... So it's a feature now! :D
Thank you so so much!
And sorry for any confusion 🙏, it's not my first game jam but my first time using Godot
Omg, the game is so cute it has so much charm! It's such a clever idea I love how the ball interacts with the gravity and the visualiser for where it will go really helps see that! I beat all 9 holes and It was super fun.
I really wish the ball would settle sooner, felt like a lot of waiting patiently while it rocked back and forth lol.
Thank you for playing! I knew getting a visualiser was important due to the confusing gravity. I really wanted to make a suped up version of what's there but ran out of time.
Glad you finished it as well! What was your score?
Yeah that pesky ball doesn't sit still, I think that's my main takeaway. Maybe a sticky ball?

Looking forward to seeing more in the future. :D
Yo, thank you! Yeah turns out Godots solution wasn't so out-of-the-box for platforming on a circle. Took too much time but rewarding once it worked!
i love this concept! really nicely executed too, great job :) !
Thank you so much! ^_^

No worries! Yeah, it helped so much and felt super polished.
I think I did it in like 40 but I can't remember exactly, the ending shot was really memorable!
The ball stopping once it's under a certain speed would be the easiest and most effective solution I think.
