Description
Inspired by the word "runaway", I've tried to imagine a run platform type game, with a fun and young tone, a lot of action and powerups so I've made a song that works as a main or level theme with a wild and loose style, using organic and 8 bit elements (leads and some drums).

My approach has been similar to many Japanese games, where there is no clear musical genre and anything goes to create exciting moments and melodies, mixing rock, jazz, latin music... trying to replicate the feeling and energy of music played live by a band, with a simple structure, a main melody, variations and solos.

All instruments are virtual and scored drawing midi notes directly in the DAW, except for the electric guitars, for which I've used a Strat guitar.
DAW: Ableton Live for recording, editing, mixing and mastering.

Theme:

Runaway

How does it fit the theme?
Fast tempo, energy and tension moments, fast melodies...

i rlly like the mix of the kinda chiptune synth lead (and other chiptune sounds) on top of the more rock-y instruments

very energetic feel, sounds fun and exciting

cool ending too

thanks! :D

This is great! Really love the guitar mixed with the chiptune, though I do think the chiptune could be a bit more present, it doesn't have as much edge to it as I would like in this context, but that may just be personal preference. Good job!

This definitely gives that running feel! The composition makes me think of anime OSTs and J-Rock. Love the mix of instruments, from 8-bit to guitars. Very hype!

Jamming myself to your guitar solo too hard :))

Feel the summer wind on my face from the coolness that this track emit.

Damn Noice :))

thanks! not so great at guitar solos but I'm happy with the result :D

This is a super cool track, the inspiration from so many different genres of music shines through

Stellar work! Super high energy, fitting for the theme with crazy production values to boot. Great mix of 8-bit contrasted with some wicked instrumentation. I also like how the ending felt like the main character had just run out of breath. Either that or the timer on the level ran out :D

Definitely going on my running playlist this one.

Thanks! you read my mind with that interpretation of the end, it's exactly what I was looking for :)

Super solid and screams Runaway, very nice mix of instruments and one of the most fun submissions so far

It totally catched the runaway feeling! I loved the main melodic synth. That kind of square-wave undertale colour. Is it you playing real drums? Good job!

Thank you very much! First I recorded myself playing the drums, but I wasn't convinced by the sound so I transcribed everything to midi and looked for a more suitable sound.

I enjoyed this one quite a lot. Very fond of the rock and 8-bit elements you put into the track,

I feel it would very much fit a fast paced plat-former where you need to keep ahead of cops or something.

I can't really think of anything that needs critique, it's a pretty solid track.

Good Job :)
