Description
Used Pico-8 to write a chiptune around a couple simple motiffs. The melody feels hopeful and a bit somber, while the harmonies pick up in intensity until just about the end. Also wanted it to be loopable in a few different spots as well as front to back, as I imagine a pretty laid back exploration based game that ramps up the obstacles fairly slowly. My goal was to provide one relatively short song that has multiple loops baked in without repeating too much.

Pico-8!! That wave sound is really good if you made it from scratch in Pico-8. It very much has that somber vibe you described and I feel like it's really amplified by the wave acting as like a sort of lilting, slow-attack metronome. good work!
I think it was really creative that you varied the tempo in each of the different sections. I can’t tell for sure, but it sounds like you maybe used the same tempo or at least a derivative of the original tempo with a different rhythm to allow for a feel of a different pace while still allowing for seamless transition back and forth. Great work and thank you for sharing!
Cool effect with that wind/wave noise!
It is a very varied song! The 8bit waves sound directly send you I good old rpg/adventure games! The whole build up is nice as it is always moving and never gets boring. I especially loved the harmonies at the end of the track! Good job and thank you for sharing :)
I like the glide in the lead synth, made it feel more fluid like it was moving with the ocean sounds. Great work!
i love the sound of these melodies and harmonies on PICO-8, super expressive and somber - i wish this song was expanded out into several tracks with their own places in a video game, but the ambience and feeling from this single track is great nonetheless!!
This is a fun soundtrack! I like the crashing wave sound, it contrasts well with the other sounds
very unique entry! I got some older school legend of Zelda vibes from it
I love the PICO-8 sound, so slightly biased, but this is some good stuff, Good entry!
