Description
The genre of the soundtrack is post-rock. The soundtrack was written for a role-playing game with elements of horror and thriller.

The DAW was FL STUDIO 21.

Main Theme used LABS libraries, as well as built-in plugins. Sound processing OZONE, OTT and others.

Dejavu used a processed sample from the Main Theme + some sound processing.

Message from the artist:
The plot tells about a girl caught in a time loop at the time of her death.

Theme:

Tick Tock...

How does it fit the theme?
Tick-tock for me symbolizes the passage of time. Conceptually, the game is connected with the passage of time. The main theme has the sound of a clock ticking, as well as various time distortions. There is a reverse effect in the Dejavu track.

  • Wasn't sure until halfway through Main Theme, then it grabbed me and i was in. Second half almost feels like it could be a basis of or have a variant that also serves as a boss theme.
  • Definitely feels unified and like it fits your concept/interpretation. Very 'loopy' sound.

Really cool use of reversed samples in Dejavu! The stuttering in the Main theme was also a very pleasant surprise and well executed. I would say your track would need a little bit of reverb to create some space for the instruments, but overall nice entry!

Well, this definitelly took me by suprise... The stuttering in Main Theme is really cool sounding. For me it's maybe too rough but I love it nonetheless!

Main Theme: This driving theme is quite contemplative and the initial section would back a serious scene very well. The glitchy effect gives the sense of the time loop like things are stuck and aren’t able to move forward properly.

Deja Vu: This subdued version of the main theme has a somewhat brighter feel to it. This seems like a track that would accompany the moments that the main character is reflecting on their life and feeling fond memories before passing. These are 2 very pleasing tracks that would work well for cut-scenes in a game or in a more cinematic work. Great work and thank you for sharing!

The floatiness of "Deja Vu" could be used in the scene where the protagonist is frozen in place witnessing in awe at what happened to her and the discovery of the weird phenomenon nicely.

Although the drum for the main theme lacks some low IMO, the choppy part in the later half was very interesting to listen to.

wow this is a very unique take on the theme. i love the post-rock elements with the electric guitar. Id say Dejavu is my favorite out of the two. i wish there were more tracks though. this seriously took me by surprise. i enjoyed it a lot!

great work!

The glitch effects in the main theme were insane! I like how the motif is incorporated in both tracks and the reverse effect in Dejavu makes it feel atmospheric and dreamy.

The effects and tone fit the theme super well. I think the hitching/stuttering in the chorus of the Main Theme is great but overused, maybe use it every other measure instead of every single measure.

Every opinion has a place to be, but at that moment I saw the work like that, and left it like that. In any case, thanks for the feedback!

It's like someone broke into If These Trees Could Talk's studio with a massive magnet and messed up all their audio files ^^ Always a fan of reverse reverb and great to hear some post rock on here. Amazing job! :)

I haven't heard about these guys before, but now I listened... It really looks like it!

Love the two variations on the same theme, one softer and one intense. Man, the second track really gets crazy after the 1 minute mark. Love it! My favorite was the first track, something about the sound choices was just so dreamy to me. Great work!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad that in my work you noted something for yourself

Nice! The production was solid and I liked that you re-used the same theme but made it feel different. The glitchy audio effect in the 2nd half of the main theme was really cool, but one thing that might make it even better would be to vary the rhythm of when the sound cuts out each time it repeats. You clearly know what you're doing, keep doing it!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Maybe, with a little poking around, I would have achieved this effect, but like many musicians, I was too lazy :)

Dejavu: I love the sound of this reversed guitar! Very cool, yet after the third or fourth repeat, the ear desires a bit of a change. In essence, this is 8 bars of music repeating again and again.

Main Theme: this guitar sounds similar to the one from Dejavu-- perhaps you took it, tuned it up, and reversed it? Either way, once again my ear craves a bit more variety-- and variety is delivered with the really cool breakdown section.

Nice work, and keep writing!

Like it!

it reminded me of the music from the anime "Death note"

Developer

There really is a similarity, because the soundtrack of Death Note is written in the same genre
