Description
Didn't know I was given another chance to be in the competition, even if it is a late submission by the rules at least I can be a part of it one way to another, Thanks Lone Rabbit.

Though I had to edit the cover page again so sorry about the weird sword graphic, it didn't fit the aesthetic I hoped for. I used Canva to make this art cover

I made the entire soundtrack in LMMS as my DAW mainly using the soundfont VST.

Context of the imaginary game:
My imaginary game involves a retro 8 bit Legend of Zelda game where a knight in shining armor saves a princess in the evil castle but then everything is transported to the real world, not just the princess and the knight but all the monsters in that castle. It turns out that was a video game and the knight was just the main character in it. Now the knight has to find the princess again but in a entirely different setting and style since he will start navigating through a world where there are no monsters known.

The track is technically unfinished but how it works that its mostly a chiptune track but changes to a more classical and electronic track as the main character goes to the real world

Message from the artist
First JAM I've ever had, I'm pretty much inexperienced in using DAWs especially when it comes to mixing and using actual instruments. Forgive me if it's too loud or soft in some tracks

Theres also story content and my thoughts on the music in my project page, please take a look into it whenever you listen to my songs

Theme

Inside my world

How does it fit the theme?
My interpretation for the theme "Inside my World" is simply a reverse Isekai situation, a subversion of one of the most popular anime genres. its where fantasy characters come into the real world. like a wizard suddenly appearing in the busy city or a dragon coming out from a highway tunnel. Examples of the reverse Isekai would be like Devil is a Part timer and Re:Creators.

In this context, what if an old game gets transported to the real world? people suddenly seeing a new color after seeing only limited colors from their game consoles, monsters looking at the towering buildings of a busy city, a hero in a world where people are in a more peaceful and prosperous state.

for a spoiler alert in the game, when the hero finds the princess again in the real world, she refuses to come back since she can see all the wonderful sights of the real world aside from the 8-bit graphics. It creates a unique conflict as the world has to adapt to this new kind of change.

Nice chiptune soundtrack! I liked the melodies, even though some of the tracks really need more percussion to round it about. Good job nevertheless!

Baking your thoughts into the video is genius - I wanted to do a retrospective of my own but this idea is way better.

These are faithful chiptunes - I dig the choice of waves and patches used. Composition and melody-wise it is on point - I can easily imagine these being used in a variety of games from the NES-era. I'm particularly fond of the main progression in Castle.

Kicking off Transition with the standard sound we've grown used to up until this point and then taking it literally by changing over to a more FM-based, modern sound was really clever. Seamless enough as well - not a jarring change, but a welcome one. Having this methodology stick for the remainder of the soundtrack is a great idea and does wonders for varying the soundscape.

All in all, great work - solid pieces here! Enjoyed them a lot, and that bonus track was pretty great too; intro progression reminded me somewhat of the early Silent Hill melodic tracks.

Main Menu: I have a soft spot for LMMS as it was my first DAW. Nice intro track.

Princess: Nice and cute 3/4 track.

A Castle: Cool 5/8! Bass is a little too loud though.

Battle: That good old NES battle theme feel. I like the rhythm.

A Sign: This is cool! Dark but groovy.

Transition: Cool bitcrush. Really love the idea of the transition to a more real sound! Reminds me of a few games I really enjoy.

Main Menu?: Cool reprise of the main menu showing a big in game shift. Again I loved this from games like Bravely Default and Sea of Stars:

A New Light: Really enjoyed the additional section!

Great work!

Lovely retro style tracks :) (my favorite was A New Light) You did an amazing job!!

Nailed the 8 bit vibe, composition is nice, everything fit as a whole.

Main Menu : Really set the tone but at exactly 1:21 the melody is doing F# while you are playing C major chord with A min on the pad, I was expecting  a switch to a dominant chord but you did not and I think it doesn't quite fit here.

Castle : Great track, composition is pretty cool, bass is way too much present, tone it down a notch and it will amazing.

Rest of the tracks feels nice adn easy to listen to, good job !

I don't know if you have ever seen Enchanted but this is almost the exact same plot except they aren't video game characters they are just fantasy world characters.

things like the princess not wanting to return and the villain also going to the real world happen in Enchanted.

not a complaint just something I noticed and wondered about.

took you long enough, why was I at the final batch of entries on your list?

Now that I think about it, yes it does seem that it's similar to the movie. I'm surprised that I didn't used that as my inspiration lmao

Anyways congrats on rating all of the entries of this JAM, what a humongous effort

thank you!

You were the 3rd to last one because you were 3rd to last to submit your entry

Every track felt related and relevant to your overall theme. I especially liked the setup of the "Main Menu" track and it was definitely a favorite of mine! Congrats on making it in and thanks for sharing this!

Oh, LMMS brother! I used to use it a lot before switching to FL studio. Nice interpretation of the theme. I enjoyed listening to this soundtrack. Good job!
