Description
My entry into this composing jam is inspired by the provided theme. My interpretation of this theme was a waltz through the ups and down of an individual's mind, seeing the the sweetest moments to the depth of despair. All with a underwater feel inspired by the image. My first track is a waltz. This dance is a playful start to the journey, emphasizing the growing closeness of the individual and the audience. The next two tracks are a slow decent into the depth of the mind. Just like the ocean, the deeper you go, the darker it gets.
My style of composing is mostly modern orchestral, inspired by the likes of Thomas Newman and various Icelandic composers like Johann Johannson. I use ProTools as my main DAW and my orchestral samples are mostly from the VSL library.

Theme

How does it fit the theme?
I used theme about a dance between two people, while also creating a underwater feel.

Wow... switching from waltz to Waltz to jazz... cool! It doesn't feel too harsh, it feels alive!

Shallow - Cute, a little melancholic and... cheerful? Interesting...

Deep - Large-scale, graceful and a little scary (Thanks to the volume increase, heh)

I liked. Thanks!

That mixture of orchestral music and jazz was am interesting and engaging idea! You executed this concept very well and I enjoyed this unique soundscape you crafted.  Each of your tracks were well done but the track "Shallow" was definitely my favorite! Great job, and thanks for sharing this!

just wanted to say that waltz is genuinely awesome- one of the best tracks i've heard so far! i was listening to submissions with some friends and this track blew us away

the part in the song where it goes from orchestral waltz to the more jazzy ensemble got a lot of reactions out of us haha

Your music is very immersive, great work!

Loved the waltz, then fell in love with the whole thing again with the switch to jazz! Really high quality orchestration and sound, well done!

I loved the sudden jazzy sections in the first song and the calm and happy tone in second one

then the third song hit me with that rising strings that reminded me of that one song in Minecraft when you're exploring the nether:

Great track

Love the orchestration! I wasn't expecting a waltz for the rhythm, but it works well as a floaty feeling, rather than a fizzy, bubbles popping feel.

Wow! What lovely orchestration! I really liked the non-diatonic notes in the waltz piece. It really did feel like Newman because of that.

I think we had a similar interpretation, but look at how that interpreatation took us to different places. For me I was really fixated on the girl and her bubbly care taker that she was holding on to. You focused on the underwater aspect which I think turned out nice. Especially in shallow.

Lovely work!
