It took me about 10 minutes to really get the hang of it and get out of there! I LOVE the music and sound - that paired with the art is a fantastic aesthetic, and the actual gameplay feels great, despite the difficulty of throwing the toys. I also loved how the lighting gets brighter the closer to morning we get, which is a small but lovely detail. Really nice job!

Thank you so much! I'll give yours a run now!

That's amazing! I'd love to play it! Please keep in touch!

Thanks so much Fox! Your feedback was incredibly fun to read and filled me with joy :D Good luck with the final ratings, you did a great job with your submission as well!

Holy shit! This thing is incredible, your blend of electronic and traditional instruments is absolutely wild, and the whole thing feels so intensely chaotic while at the same time glued together, I've never heard anything quite like. How you can envision something like this and make it reality is insane to me, and it is just so good.

VERY nice work! This is EASILY in my top 5 of the whole jam.

Thank you so much! I love finding public domain artwork from nearly a hundred years ago that just seems to fit, so I'm glad you appreciated it! :D

(1 edit)

Nice range of styles you got here! This is a great submission, and I find it hard to complain about anything, though I will echo a comment below and suggest finding ways to make the orchestral samples feel a little more realistic, particularly the brass!

As it stands though, I think you did a fantastic job bringing this world to life! My favorites were Treacherous Space, Meal Rush and Quips and Quirks (this one reminded me so much of Final Fantasy lol).

Nice work!

Thank you for listening!

You're right about the wind effects! I didn't even think of that lol.

Thanks a lot for listening and for the kind words my friend!

Great work here.

! I love the contrast between the two tracks (Space Palace reminded me a lot of being inside Sin in FFX), and the orchestration in the Opening was beautiful.

Nice work!

This is probably my winner for this jam! Holy hell, you did an amazing job with this submission. The orchestration is beautiful, and encapsulates everything I strive for in my music, but never seem to achieve.

EXCELLENT work my friend!

Thank you so much for listening!

Thank you so much my friend! :D

The way you incorporated sound design elements like the clock and bubbles is unmatched so far in this jam for me. These are some really fantastic tracks, and the mixing/mastering is very well done.

Awesome work my friend!

Thank you for listening, and for your kind words!

Thanks so much for listening and for the recommendation! I've never played Celeste but I've heard very good things, and along with Undertale, that's been the most consistently referenced game in the comments of this entire jam lol

These were beautiful, though a tad quiet!

Outside of the volume, if you decide to go for a more realistic approach with orchestral instrumentation, bear in mind the flute player will have to breathe at some point! The flute you had in One Step at a Time was a beautiful pairing with the piano, so just keep in mind fading out some long notes to simulate a stop for breath and you'll have yourself a phenomenal piece!

Otherwise, really great job for someone just starting out their game dev journey! Keep going, cuz I wanna hear more!

This is absolutely killer work. It's probably the most cohesive synth-wave style I've come across this entire jam.

Great job!

You've got some great groove here! Well done!

I'll echo a lot of other comments here - you've got a great base to grow from here, and these tracks would benefit from a bit more development of melody and arrangement. But they sound good and clearly you've got a good ear for video game music!

From one composer who started with stock FL Studio plugins to another - nice work!

I really like the build up over the course of the OST to that phenomenal ending of The YOU you WISH you WEREN'T!

Seeing that old school PS1 box art and hearing the sounds you chose brought me back. Nice work!

You got me really good with that changeup in Owl Encounter lol. Then you got me AGAIN with that smooth devolution of the piano into the electronic masterpiece that is Machine Monster.

Really interesting and unique submission! Everything sounds fantastic, nice work!

I loved your YouTube video going through the entire story in context with the music! This is a very cohesive OST and your choice of sounds as well as your great mix really make this one shine.

The H2Zone is the highlight for me! It's like Spyro meets some Final Fantasy, and I can't really explain why lol.

Very nice work my friend!

Nailed it! This is very interesting, and your orchestration and storytelling within is incredible. Really well done.

I don't know exactly why, but this submission wants me to work for the ShinRa Electric Power Company.

Incredibly unique work you've done here, and considering the personal nature of your interpretation of the theme, it's like I'm right there with you reflecting on those experiences. Well done my friend. Your mom would be proud to hear this, I'm sure <3

When it broke into full orchestral near the midway point I was sold. You did a great job creating a self contained story in this one track. Very well done!

Simple and sweet, yet highly effectual! You've blended a few different styles into a really unique submission. Well done!

I think this works really well as a game OST! You've got music that would support a gameplay loop without overcrowding the player's senses. Really well done!

I really like your instrument choice here, and the structure of your arrangement is very nice. I also respect the solo piano, as that always has a profound impact on me.

Nice work!

Very much a vibe. Well done!

The guitars you used here were FILTHY, and this whole thing is really unique and impressive. Nice job!

I will echo the other sentiments about the mastering and craving more low end, but overall, this slays.

Well done!

I LOVE the mallet sounds you used in Dream I Can Fly, and I think that track really set the tone for the whole rest of the submission. You nailed the floaty, underwater feel. Really nice work!

I really connected with your theme, and your commitment to that authentic SEGA sound was spot on and brilliant. Nice work!

Overall sound and mix is top notch, and "Long Corridors" is one of the most unique tracks I have ever heard. Well done!

*Gordon Ramsay meme* "Finally, some good f*cking metal.*

As a lifelong metal fan, this stuff was absolutely badass. Really nice work! I made the stank face pretty much throughout the entirety of Defrag and when the groove kicked in on Time to Live.

Killer stuff!

Love the feeling of that "recessed" lead synth that just melts into everything else. Haunting, almost chilling. Well done!

Really nice instrumentation, orchestration, and mix throughout! Well done!

You absolutely killed this, experience or not. Really well done!

I enjoyed how weird this one is! And that's not a bad weird lol. Nice work!
