Description
my brain definetly pictured some good ol' indie surreal rpg while making this, but at times i could also see myself enjoying an autoscrolling platformer with artsy storytelling, specially with the last track that feels like a closer you'd hear at a credits scene, but weirder lol.

i found myself doing what i've done when composing for game projects that were never finished. Had a timeline of what sounds i wanted for beginning, middle, and end of an experience and started with both ends first, which was "Familiar Place" and "Across the Moon" respectively, then with those 2 songs as guidelines for what i wanted to go for i started to pave the connecting points between them, to varying degrees of success.

Shoutouts to the BambooTracker community discord, specially to those who share soundbanks. i made this soundtrack entirely on FL Studio but i have been resampling those banks for a while and im really happy with the sounds i get from them.

Message from the artist
Thanks for the amazing excuse to make me work myself creatively with a deadline, it definetly is a different experience that letting me do whatever i want with no guide. i like it.

Inside my world
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I couldn't help myself and went with an edgier interpretation of "inside my world" lol. Which is why i started with a "surreal indie internet-core rpg" vibe, but i also really wanted to get a bit of inspiration from the image itself since it was so pretty, so i made myself sit down and draw on top of it like if i was a toddler with crayons to see what main aspects of the art would catch my attention and drink from that as well. That ended up being the faceless "Mother" as i interpreted it (my mommy issues come with me whenever i go baby) and the lil child being a great source of joy for this world.
This ended up with me going for repetitive and sample heavy "spooky noises" being used parallel to drum beats, piano and chiptune-ish melodies as a way to not make me feel like those "spooky sounds" are evil, ill-mannered or something to escape from, they are just there, just like the weird car sounds in the middle of the night, or the vandalized walls you see on your way to work, or the dust on your living room curtains.
I ended up going with a small story about living and appreciating the ups and downs, the pretty and the anxiety inducing, without really overly romanticizing any of them, it's a casual listen even if there's a final triumphant song, triumph is just part of the ups and downs.
i made the music with the complex world inside a family, and the nice memories of seeing your family happy, even if only at times.
im bad at short concise explanations, gomenasorry

Hey, I like the sound of the old radio!

(Help, I feel like I've been drowned...)

P.S. You have one of the most LSD cover art)

This submission oozes with personality. You have a very unique style and sound here. "Roadin" goes hard in ways I wasn't expecting, "First Rodeo" feels incredibly surreal, and "Across the Moon" feels like Lo-Fi in space. Fun listen, nice work!

Great job on this one! This soundtrack oozes with a surreal vibe. Loved "Roadin'", the voice samples made me think of Jet Set Radio. All around a pleasant listen.

I agree with you that having a deadline helps a lot and make us learn a lot !

The whole vibe of your ost is interesting. Not too spooky, a bit scifi or steam punk...

I really liked the rythmic pattern in Roadin' :)

All of them sound unique and atmospheric, I'd love to hear them in a game! Also great experimentation
