Theme

Inside my world
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
unalarmed is a fictional game played with a mouse or mobile device. the gameplay consists of making swiping and tapping gestures that correlate with the music rhythm to deflect or dodge attacks from the creatures in your dreams. a power meter fills according to how precise your inputs are, and players may attack back at any time, dealing damage proportional to how full the meter is with an object they summon in the lucid dream. the main goal is to deal enough damage without your health dropping below zero.

in unalarmed, you are trying not to wake up as a persistent force, the alarm, attempts to do the opposite. the soundtrack attempts to replicate the theme of the first level, which is set in the sea. monstrous beings are attempting to drag you to the surface of the ocean, and you must evade tentacular arms, air jets, and barrages of sea creatures to face against the kraken, who wishes to wake you and destroy your dreamscape. i used apple's default silk ringtone as a motif to represent the force of the alarm, and a variety of water-related sound effects to achieve the feeling of being in an ocean environment.

Very unique approach to the concept and a good Dubstep song, at that. I frankly have not played many modern rhythm games (donkey Konga was probably the last I played, which dates me horribly), so I cannot speak to it as an OST, but cool track either way!

Offtopic, your soundcloud profile caught me off guard xD

Anyywaays moving on to the actual song, I was NOT expecting such an exciting dubstep track, so already bonus points for creativty!

I think you nailed the Rhythm Game vibes with this one. I could see this being used in a game like Osu or Cytus!

While listening I was so caught up trying to figure out where I had heard the theme before and when I read that you used the default silk ringtone I instantly remembered it and I think that is an ultra creative thing to do!

Instantly elevated the whole track for me!

Heh... what time is it? Time is a clock!

Very nice and resonating melody (I love your work with sound quality, I can literally FEEL the effect with my ears.... definitely cool)

You used a lot of interesting effects, which are good for emphasizing the composition in an unusual way.

P.S. I love that puppy on the soundcloud cover.

Its an interesting tracks with a simple but great idea.

I m not a pro at dubstep so i wont juge that part. I think you're track would benefit for a huge dynamic boost between the drop to get a better impact.

Good job and keep going ;)

Did not have a dubstep entry on my bingo card! This made for an interesting lesson - kudos on the choice of melody surrounding the bass growls; simple but memorable. The growls themselves are nice and varied too, just the right amount of punch and movement. Great work, and again - unique entry, I hope it does well!
