Description
I used FL Studio to make these two tracks, the first should work for the opening scene of the "game" while I imagined the second to be the background music for the safe zone between levels.

Both tracks are mostly made using processed instrument samples with a few electronic elements mixed in.

We imagined the game to be a puzzle platformer with lots of mechanics centered around bubbles.

I hope my tracks hold up to scrutiny!

Theme

Inside my world
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I mostly tried to capture the vibe of the image, focusing on different aspects of it in the two tracks, but the text theme definitely contributed to the playfulness of track 1.

Ideally the bits of spectral processing and granular effects should kind give the vibe of the bubbles.

Nice choice of sound design! I really liked how you pictured the image in your music! "A break in the sands" is my favourite with it's chill chords on an acoustic guitar and the subtle ambiences coming around!

Good job!

This is fantastic! Both songs are so full of lovely details and the mixing is excellent. I love the drip samples following the melody on the first track, and as many others have said the guitar sounds fantastic on track two! Really relaxing and serene, both songs fit the theme very well too. Great work!

Such a good listen, you made very visual tracks and the guitar bend sound (kinda sounded like an illusion) really got me feelin stuff. (●ˇ∀ˇ●)

OH, I LOVE THAT GUITAR IN THE SECOND TRACK!!!1!

Overall, I liked it. Thanks!

Very cool how you used the water/dripping sounds to turn into the first melody, and really cool overall vibe! I loved it!

Really nice use of SFX and atmospheres to lean into the theme off the bat with this. Loving the choice of instrumentation and voicings. Into the Shimmering Sea paints a beautiful picture, and the music itself delivers on that premise. At points this feel adjacent to botanica, a genre I think is dope and not explored enough. Really nice use of piano setting the lead tones with some interesting pad and drone textures shimmering beneath and breathing between. Nice touch with the minimal percussion; just enough to provide rhythm without it becoming a defining feature of the track.

A Break in the Sands feels like a more typical arrangement, which is a great follow-up. Guitar-work here is nice - erring more on the minimal side at points but doing just enough to set the tone. Loving that bend-effect that comes in every few bars. The little glitches and ear candy that weave throughout the guitar notes remind me of the previous track and do a great job of livening up the mix as a whole and adding some more of that shimmer.

Great work, this style is super interesting and I'd love to hear more of it! Solid submission and great thematic execution. Best of luck! :)

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback!!! I've been listening to a lot of botanica and have definitely let it influence me a bit, lot's of spectral/granular stuff going on in the background, you're the first to point it out! :)

Such a neat idea to play with the textures like you did. Love how soothing the whole ost is, would be a super use for a chill puzzle game!

Very interesting, and the atmosphere here sounds really cool.

Very great use of textures and very pretty sound choices! Reminds me a lot of Will Wiesenfeld (bee & puppycat) arrangements and Aivi & Surasshu stuff (Steven Universe) with the blips and bloops everywhere.  This is definitely  a very soothing, dynamic soundscape for a game.  Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much!! yeah the picture theme reminded me a bit of Steven Universe maybe that influenced my approach a bit :)

This is a 10/10 for me. A Break in the Sands is one of my favorites tracks I've heard across every submission I've listened to so far.

You should be proud. Well done!

Break In The Sands is so beautiful. It reminds me a little of "Peace of the World" from Dark Chronicle.

It fits so well to the theme! Very unique and relaxing, too. Great job! :) At the end of the 1st track I was certain you were going to reference Hopes And Dreams from Undertale haha

The music sounds fitting and was very relaxing to listen to.  All the water sound effects and other electronic noises in the background do a lot to set the mood and give the soundtrack a great feel and atmosphere. Sounds great overall!

All of the textures sound really cool. I feel like people who are fans of ASMR would probably like this a lot! lol nice watery vibes too. The guitar track is my favorite! Gives me a bit of the n64 Zelda domain music.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! Zelda games are an inspiration I can't seem to shake even when I'm not really thinking of emulating that style haha!

Hi ! thank you for your submission, I totally see this as an ost for a game with puzzle phases !! Great atmosphere!

As stated before, this is a very unique submission! I haven’t heard the use of water and water-adjacent samples from others. My only critique is that I’d like to hear more!
