Description
The game this was made for involved a brave little girl named Hikaru who saw trouble in the bubble kingdom and decided to dive in and help. It would be a third person puzzle rpg (much like abzu) where as she meets new people and finds new tools, she'd tackle larger and larger obstacles for the fish people.

The first track see's our hero diving into the water and the music expresses the different feelings she had while descending. The second track is the sound of Hikaru solving frustrating puzzles, as well as traversing the town to buy items from shop keepers to help solve the puzzles. I used Reaper as my choice of DAW, using a combination of sounds and Midi's to create the atmosphere intended.

Message from the artist
I had a ton of fun working on this jam. I stepped a little out of my element for this one, but for my first jam, I'm pretty happy with it.

Theme

Inside my world
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I named the little girl in the photo Hikaru and she travels into the world of the bubble kingdom, hitting both themes.

She Dove Into the Water and It Held Her Hand: The panned bubble effects are very immersive. And the pad swell getting loud makes it feel like we are sinking downward closer to the underwater city. The 12/8 time signature you use allows you to do some pretty cool polyrhythm stuff. I in particular love the 4 over 3 feel of the melody over the background saxophone arpeggio.

Here to Help!: I love the use of the pop sound in your percussion! Your melody has a really unique sound with the sliding synth that makes this track stand out. When listening to this track, I feel a sense of joy for being with others in the community and also of a sort of contented swagger.

Overall: Your world immersion is certainly a strength in this soundtrack and your atmospheric pads are top notch. I think you also do a good job of varying the emotion of the present situation for each track which makes for great adaptive music. Well done and thank you for sharing!

Interesting sound design incorporated into your compositions. Very well made. I enjoyed a lot.

In Here to help! at 1:40...that was spectacular. Really nice guitars as well.

Well done!

I love the bubble effects, haha. very neat pieces. Here to help is very chill and non-threatening like you would expect a bubble world to be.

These were both a fun listen! The percussion in Here to Help was fun, and I can appreciate the use of stereo space in this track in particular. The guitar chord line really reminds me of something I'd hear on a 16-bit console which is really cool.

As for She Dove Into The Water And It Held Her Hand, I think the intro in particular does a great job of gradually introducing each element. The bubbling sound effects are great, and a clever use of stereo space again. Chord progression is nice, and the almost reversed-piano sounding synth(?) is cool too. I think the piano could do with some more dynamic velocity but as a whole it doesn't drag down the composition. Good work. :)

I very much enjoy the way you programmed your percussions; they really do bring the Caribbean vibe into your tracks! I especially like track 4, it feels like sitting down and reminiscing on good times, I simply wished it was longer so I could enjoy it more. Really well done!

I liked Here For Help especially. The bouncy rhythm of it was fun and gave a good vibe for a bubble kingdom.
