Description
I composed a dark wave style track. This song could be used as a dark motif for a villain or during intense moments of gameplay. I composed the track using samples and virtual instruments with lots of side-chaining and modulation in Reaper.
Message from the artist:
Feel free to use in other projects. CC 4.0. I had a lot of fun making this track and I hope you enjoy listening to it.
How does it fit the theme?
The idea was to make a theme for a character who is suffering from cyberpsychosis or a particularly menacing character like Adam Smasher. The track can also be used in a situation where a lot of combat is going on.

Niiice, this fits the theme really really well. I like the sounds you used and the overall style a lot, encountering an enemy with this music in a game would really scare me though xDD
Great Job!
This is usually what I think of when I think of cyberpunk; gritty, heavy, and super distorted with weird glitchy sounds. It works so well in this jam. Only issue I have is that it feels a bit repetitive after a while, I would add a few instruments or things to change it up a bit. That said, it sounds great!
This is a really tough, gritty take on cyberpunk. That second section is even more intense and really does have that villain feel. Great work!
I like the subtle introduction, then how it gets really psycho in the B part. Great contrast! Those synths and that mic crackling are really unsettling. Great ambience!
I like this atmosphere :)!
Wow! it sounds so aggresive and ominous, and truly "Cyberpunky", my only complaint is that it sounds kind of like it was recorded with a bad mic or something, I don't know if it's intentional or not but the song itself, with the glitches and FX, is stunning!
The bad mic was intentional. I was experimenting with some EQ effects in there to give a more lo-fi feeling.
Ah ok thanks for telling me!
Really creative and interesting sound design! I could totally see this as an introduction to a completely distorted and ominous villain as you mentioned. Great job!
Very unsettling sound, samples in the music will probably will interfere with SFX of the game... I can imagine how nervous should I be playing this ^_^
Really unique sound, definitely dark and and threatening! Pretty adventurous sound design, with the gated snare, noisy synths, and syncopated/dissonant parts, all with the spooky bass lurking in the background.
I think the difference in volume levels between the “primary” and “secondary” instruments was a little too intense, and I found the noisier parts somewhat overwhelming. A little bit of EQ to tame some of the harsh highs from multiple noise sources at once would help a lot!
Thank you! I definitely agree with your feedback. I was going to try and work on that more this morning but overslept! I was going for a bit overwhelming but I definitely could have dialed it back.
I'm scared to see the guy trying to kill me when this is playing. This is so aggressive and honestly terrifying. So I think you nailed it :)
It's dark and intense, so it definitely fits the theme!
Cool! Definitely nailed the cyberpsycho vibe.
I echo what the previous commenter said as well. Those gritty texture sounds with the incredibly lush and detailed top end remind me a lot of Amon Tobin as well. I can just imagine a super buff scary dude coming at you during this combat theme.
Great work!
This gave me Amon Tobin vibes, great work on the glitches! Also the walking-speed BPM really fits the title of the track! I’d gladly get in a boss fight with this playing in the background!
