Description
A boss-fight style track that features a phase-shift from a "Heaven"-style chorus and harps, to "Hell"-style rock production. Designed for an Action/RPG boss fight with a form change in the middle. Composed in GarageBand using free instruments, and actual guitar playing from myself.

Theme:

Two Worlds

How does it fit the theme?
I used the "Two Worlds" theme to inspire the phase shift between the two styles of music, for a Heaven and Hell motif.

I thought the second part of the song was pretty cool. I was a bit overwhelmed by the choir chord being held at quite a high volume throughout the entire first part, though. Some of the chords in the other instruments clashed with the choir chord, which is a interesting idea, but did not feel very heavenly to me. I think if you want to go for the held notes, it might help to either reduce the volume a bit or go for just a fifth instead of an entire triad.

Other than that, I really appreciate the fact that you recorded the guitar yourself and it also sounds very good, nice job!

Thanks for the detailed feedback!  I was iffy about it the whole time but not really sure how to get that choir part to sound better, this is SUPER helpful!

I like that you used a common theme and form and used two opposing styles to evoke opposite, yet connected worlds. My absolute favorite part and I think your best work in overall balance and instrumentation were between 2:18-2:29. Great guitar playing as well! Thanks for sharing!

Love the switch up in this piece!

Well, the first half didn't really feel like a boss theme to me, but the second half more than made up for it! I definitely wasn't expecting the piano, but I like how it alternates between a more hopeful melody and a more tense one.

This was a super cool track! Love the changes between, made me feel like I was fighting a boss in Bayonetta. Thank you for your work!

I agree with VGMKas! The mood shift was really well done! Also, I just really liked the organ you used at the beginning of the track. It sounded really nice underneath the harp and choir sounds. Well done!

The mood change caught me off-guard and I loved it! Love the scale arpeggios too haha
