Description
This is an original soundtrack for an imaginary video game called “Dichotomy” that takes influence from funk, soul, jazz, and disco. Two rival gangs occupy the streets of the city Midnight Metropolis. The uptown Neon Heights are always at odds with the Downtown Shade and this OST explores the culture of the two groups and demonstrates what happens when these two rivals from two totally different worlds collide. I created this soundtrack with Garageband using Garageband instruments, DSK saxophone, and Stickz FXT using a keyboard midi controller. Please enjoy my original soundtrack, Dichotomy!
Artist comment:
Please enjoy this 48 hour OST!
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
Even in a single city, the life of those in Neon Heights and Downtown Shade feel worlds apart. While they may share the same roots, the members of each of these gangs express themselves very differently. In classic Westside Story-esque fashion, this OST explores how two rival groups are different and what happens when the worlds collide. Musically, I used varying musical styles (disco/four on the floor vs. funk/soul) to represent each of the two groups and tried to create something new when combined together. I think this soundtrack perfectly fits the theme and highlights that even two different worlds may not be as different as they may seem on the surface.
