Message from the artist
This song was composed for the Super Challenge difficulty. Creating a song that is sounds the same forward and backwards.

I tried some different options, but I preferred to keep it simple and the Chiptune genre was the best fit for this.

Difficulty

C (Super Challenge)

Make something that has elements that can be listened to both backwards and forwards.

Nice work! I can tell you have a rock background, I think it works really well with the chiptune style!

Strategic choice of a instrumental timbre with little onset. The track perfectly responds to the challenge and enjoyable. Good job!

A small journey it is indeed. Certainly nailed that drive of heading out, like listened so many times on the GameBoy. Well done. Also extra kudos to you for nailing difficulty C without just reversing the whole song in the middle. It felt pretty natural.

Simple way to use mostly analog waves, it works best when going reverse indeed, good job recognizing this.

simple, but well executed! Good job!

When the melody came in I got hit with a wave of nostalgia (in the best way)! Great work, especially considering you went for Challenge C. I think the mix might work better if the melody was in the center of the mix, but hard to say without messing around with it myself, and overall everything sounds really balanced so this is just a suggestion

Really strong example of Challenge C.
Great work.

Wow, that sounds like from an actual (S)NES game!

I double Jofes' sentiment - I think that 8bit-ish cymbal would work better (even if it was just a filtered noise).

But overall great work!

I respect going for the super challenge! I could never it just looked to difficult!

I'm not sure how well the realistic cymbal crash fits the 8-bit aesthetic though.

If you are interested I think that a cool thing to do would be have the cymbal crash go into an orchestral version and then the second crash takes it back to the 8-bit section!

I know that would kind of ruin the "plays the same backwards" aspect but it would also just be a cool idea if you ever revisit this piece.

good job!
