Message from the artist
Live Not On Evil is a short musical sketch for a conceptual narrative game about right, wrong, and free will. Who decides what is right? Who decides what is wrong? Can our choices ever be undone?

Live Not On Evil is written using two melodies: the A theme, and the B theme which is the A theme reversed both in terms of pitch and rhythm. The structure of the entire piece "folds" halfway through, as follows: intro, A theme, B theme, transition, B theme, A theme, outro. Both the intro and the outro mirror each other, the outro being the intro in reverse. Finally, the transition section is eight bars, with the first four bars mirrored and reversed by the subsequent bars.

Harmonic and orchestration liberties were taken to support the forward flow of the music, to promote musical variety, and to generally incorporate a sense of musicality.

Neat theme both forward and backward. Definitely has some fantasy vibes. Thanks for sharing!

Truly a pleasant piece to listen to. So serene as the narrative unfolds surrounding the personal theme of decisions

A fellow sheet music fan! I love the concept you laid out for the game and really appreciate the attention you paid to the structure of the piece. It's a lovely song! I think you could experiment more with some contrary motion or countermelodies - a lot of it sounded like it was in unison. Not a bad thing, just if you want to try something new :)

This felt like a song that a middle school band would play.

That's not a diss I love that vibe! I think its the woodwinds doing it and the track feels very nice.

Great job!

Very smooth voice leading and instrumentation, the reversed melody is also very seamless!
