Message from the artist
I wasn't entirely sure whether my submissions fell into Difficulty A or B so I just played it safe. I had a lot of fun with this project! In total everything was about 9:15. My main inspiration for this project was Lena Raine's work.

Pine forest: Intense, this track builds up very nicely. The drums and fast arpeggios contrast nicely with the slower arpeggios and define well less intense and a higher intensity moments. I assume that is what they mean?

Shopping time: My personal favorite. Nice and relaxing, I like the percussion rhythms a lot here too.

Frozen waterfall: There is a nice transformation from the softer beginning to a more dramatic shift. There is some very cool effect here (modulation?)

Full Moon Thunderstorm: Also a nice relaxing track, I like the flute-like synth especially.

Overall, a nice listen, well done!

I love the punch these tracks have. These are all super cool.

these tracks are all great! I loved all of them!! They were all very cohesive! I could definitely envision these in a game! Amazing job!

Great on all fronts, especially loved Pine Forest. I also got Undertale shop vibes from Shopping Time which was great

Love the instrument choices in every track!

At first I thought that sounded like Metroid but then you pictured Lena's work more clearly. Very good submissions all the tracks are nicely composed, the mix is great. Well done.

Sounds great! Even though there's some different genres here, they all feel very cohesive. Really liked Shopping Time!

Hi! That was great! It completely had that Lena Raine vibe and it's pretty nice. Shopping time has a really nice bass riff and the vibe y great. I really liked Full Moon Thunderstorm but I think a title like Full Moon Waterfall would fit better with the song. Oh and I love the strings in Frozen Waterfall

Nice work!

The whole feels very coherent. I particularly like the synths you chose. They blend really well and contribute to the coherence by creating reminders in the different tracks. Good job!

I found the different choices of musical styles between the tracks very interesting, while still maintaining a coherent thematic line throughout the soundtrack. The leads might have been that thematic line. I noticed elements of R&B in the tracks, with great-sounding electronic drums and breakbeats… Despite this, everything had a very recognizable chiptune tone. Great submission! The only aspect I feel I should point out is the excessive repetitiveness of some tracks. Of course, the time for production was really limited, and we also couldn’t refine everything in detail, but in the end, it’s part of the challenge.😉😉

Thank you so much for the feedback. The tracks were certainly repetitive at points. I was producing in a mindset where it was essentially background audio for more important things happening in the “game” itself. But I definitely could’ve switched things up a bit more. Thank you :)

I very clearly heard the Lena Raine inspired style so congrats on achieving that goal!

I also really enjoyed the instruments you used. Particularly the Bass sounded really nice!

The rattle that came in halfway through frozen waterfall was also really cool and added a ton of texture to the track!

I would say that Pine forest was my favorite track because I tend to prefer energetic tracks

Great job!

Developer

Thanks so much :) I think Pine Forest is probably my favorite too. It reminds me of a potential chase scene. Or if you have played Celeste, it is very fitting for a lot of Badeline encounters haha.

The overall feel reminds me of the game Celeste (and after upon further research, the soundtrack for Celeste is made by Lena Raine, which is your main inspiration and now i feel dumb haha) and honestly i really vibe with it. I really love the jazzy feel in Shopping Time with the syncopations. It sounds simple yet intricate at the same time? I'm not sure how to describe it, all i know is Shopping Time is my favorite one :D

Developer(+1)

LOL! Thank you! Yeah I was definitely going for a Celeste-type soundtrack. I totally know what you mean in Shopping Time too, the reason it sounds like that is because of the 7/4 time signature. It was a strange idea that I wanted to roll with and it ended up being really fun! Thank you for the feedback :)

THIS is some catching work with some DRIVE. The palindromic elements are worked in nicely. But I can't babble on about your groove and the cool vibes your songs got. If I had to critique anything, it would be the somewhat flat sounding mix. However that would be complaining in the highes order. Very well done!

Developer

Thank you! I agree with the mix, I definitely could've had more things stick out. I appreciate the critique!
